FS State Railways and North Milan Railways both serve Milan. FS State Railways (FS-Ferrovie dello Stato), links Milan with the rest of the country, and the North Milan service links Brescia-Iseo-Edolo (the hinterland to the north of Milan, Varese, Como, Novara, Brescia and Val Camonica).
The price of tickets, which can be bought in the stations or from authorised agents, vary according to distance, service and whether you are travelling first or second class. It is important to remember to stamp your ticket before boarding the train or the conductor will enforce a fine or make you pay the fare again.
