Ligurian cuisine is reputed to be the lightest and most perfumed of all Italy's regional specialities by many gourmets. Apart from the world famous pesto, some hidden delights such as Focaccia al formaggio and Verdure ripiene really merit a trip to the coast. But if you're in Milan, head for Camogli, near the Polytechnic: the menu includes all the classics, extremely well made. Don't miss the Focaccia al formaggio, and the troffie: they are absolute winners. The prices are reasonable too. Easy parking.
