This church dates from the Rococo period, and is located in the east wing of Stockholm's royal palace. The first thing you will notice is the magnificent altarpiece made of white marble, which reaches all the way up to the ceiling. Pierre-Hubert Archevêque began the work with the altar, and in 1779 it was completed by Johan Tobias Sergel, a well-known Stockholm personality. The light, airy room was decorated in white and gold by Jacques Philippe Bouchardon, and contains paintings by Guillaume-Thomas-Raphael Taraval and his pupil Johan Pasch.
The interior is made of green marble and decorated with half-columns with gilded Corinthian capitals. Between the columns are statues of the Apostles, carried out around the middle of the nineteenth century by the Norwegian sculptor Hans Michelsen. Morning services are held every Sunday at 11am.
