Finska kyrkan

Finnish church

The Finnish church is made of bricks, and the saddle roof is covered with tiles. It is located next to the palace in Gamla Stan. It was architect Göran Josua Adelcrantz (1668-1739) who was given the responsibility of rebuilding and furnishing the church. The altar ring probably originates from the palace chapel in Tre Kronor, which burned down in 1697. In the church there are 1,734 paintings showing various Finnish provincial weapons and the national coat of arms.

Morning service is held every Sunday at 11am. The church is open to the public between 1 June and 31 August, 9am-3pm.
