Stockholm
Largest church in Stockholm
Gustaf Vasakyrkan at Odenplan was consecrated in 1906, designed by architect Agi Lindegren. The church is the largest in Stockholm, and seats no less than 1,500 people. This central church in late Baroque style has the same shape as the Italian Baroque churches, a Greek cross with squares in the exterior angles. The interior is characterised by the grandiose altar, partly modelled on an example in the Jesuit church Il Gesù in Rome, and originally made for the cathedral in Uppsala.
Morning service is held every Sunday at 11am.
