Engelbrektskyrkan

One of the largest in Stockholm

This church is one of the largest in Stockholm, and was finished in 1914. The tower can be seen from afar. The church is unique in Sweden because of its intact architecture in Art Nouveau and National Romanticism, with a touch of Byzantine style. Architect Lars Israel Wahlman chose the Sermon on the Mount as a theme, and it really looks as if the church grew from the hills.

The interior gives the same magnificent impression as the exterior. The eye-catcher is the fresco by Olle Hjortzberg. Morning service is held every Sunday at 11am.
