Overview
Explore the land of ancient temples, lush tropical forests and agrarian life, and reflect on the remnants of a not-so-distant war. On this 16-day tour, you’ll cruise the Mekong River from Vietnam through Cambodia, spending six nights aboard the River Saigon.
The journey begins in Ho Chi Minh City, formerly Saigon, where you’ll spend two nights. Step into the Cu Chi Tunnels, the extensive underground labyrinth that linked Viet Kong soldiers to villages from Saigon to Cambodia, visit a rubber plantation and tour the bustling city.
Aboard the River Saigon, sail the Mekong, with stops for sampan cruises and walking tours, visits to holy sites and floating markets, and a rickshaw tour of Phnom Penh. Leave the Mekong behind and travel to Siem Reap, your base for a three-night stay and visit to Angkor Wat, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here you’ll discover the stunning remains of the Khmer Empire at one of the most important archaeological sites in Southeast Asia.
Return to Vietnam and end your journey with two nights in Hanoi. Explore the capital city, with time on your own. Enjoy a tour of colonial Hanoi, before you depart this captivating, exotic corner of the world.
