Tipping in Australia is becoming more popular, but still not required - 5-15% is average. Taxi drivers are always grateful if you leave the change.

The Australian climate is very similar to that of the United States, but at opposite times of the year, ranging from warm in the summer to cold in the winter. The various regions experience different climates at different times of the year; therefore, it is best to determine the specific climate for the time and regions you will be traveling.
Generally speaking, pack light, comfortable clothing that can be layered if it becomes chilly. A light jacket would be advisable in the fall and spring, with heavier clothing in the winter.
