Walking – Moderate Physical Activity Required

Not all areas included on this tour are accessible by motor vehicle. Visiting ancient ruins and a handful of other listed sites may require some walking, sometimes on cobblestone streets. Be sure to pack comfortable and safe walking shoes and get ready to enjoy these fascinating attractions up close and personal.

This tour requires moderate physical activity. You should be in good health, able to climb stairs and walk slightly longer distances, possibly over uneven grounds and cobblestone streets.

DAY 1 USA - Vienna

VIP Door-to-Door Transfer to your local airport for your overnight flight to Vienna.

DAY 2 Arrive Vienna

Arrive at Vienna International Airport where you’ll be transferred to the ship.

DAY 3 Vienna, cruising the Wachau Valley

Today for your included sightseeing you have the choice of traveling along Vienna’s Ringstrasse to magnificent St. Stephen’s Cathedral and visiting the stunning National Library, or you can choose to explore Vienna’s historic town center by foot and subway as the locals do, and stop at a traditional Viennese coffee house. Later we cruise the UNESCO-designated Wachau Valley and enjoy the enchanting scenery.

DAY 4 Passau

Enjoy a scenic morning sail through the Schloegener Schlinge— an exceptionally pretty oxbow in the Danube. In the afternoon, discover the medieval city of Passau with a walking tour that culminates in a concert on Europe’s largest pipe organ in Baroque St. Stephan’s Cathedral.

DAY 5 Regensburg

On your Regensburg tour, an unspoiled gem and UNESCO World Heritage Site, marvel at the towns famous 12th-century Stone Bridge, Roman Porta Praetoria gate, Cathedral of St. Peter, and other treasures.

DAY 6 Cruising the Main-Danube Canal, Nuremberg

This morning cruise parts of the Main-Danube Canal, a marvel of modern engineering. Today for your included sightseeing you have the choice of discovering Nuremberg, a medieval gem with notable WWII history, during a city tour, or you can choose to turn back the pages of history with a guided tour of the city’s most important WWII sites including the Documentation Center Nazi Party Rally Grounds. Later you’ll also visit the newly opened Nuremburg Memoriam Trials, including Courtroom 600, venue of the Nuremberg Trials.

DAY 7 Bamberg

Explore the UNESCO World Heritage city of Bamberg, passing its Renaissance palaces and Baroque houses.

DAY 8 Wurzburg (Rothenburg or Wurzburg)

Visit the best-preserved medieval town in Germany, Rothenburg, with its imposing fortifications on your morning tour. In the afternoon, visit the Wurzburg Residenz, an 18th century Baroque palace.

DAY 9 Miltenberg

Visit Miltenberg, with its fairytale half-timbered houses, Crooked House, and Royal Inn.

DAY 13 Amsterdam
