| A valid passport is required by all foreign visitors to Canada, except United States citizens, though it is recommended.
Most western visitors don't need a visa to visit Canada. Travelers from South Africa, China, North Korea, Taiwan, Eastern European and developing countries do require them. Entry stamps for visits of up to six months are free.

| The currency in Canada is the Canadian dollar.
You can exchange foreign currency or cash at almost any bank or exchange bureau. Credit cards are widely accepted and ATMs all over the country accept various ATM cards and credit cards for cash advance.
Tipping in Canada is required, usually 15% whether the service was good or not. Taxi drivers, bellhops, doormen, bartenders, waitresses all expect a tip for their services.

Packing Tips

| The Canadian climate ranges from hot to humid in the summer months to cold and frigid in the winter. It's has a very similar climate to the US. Its best to determine the climate for the time and regions you'll be traveling.
For the most part, pack light, comfortable clothing that can be layered if it becomes chilly. And a light jacket would be advisable in the fall and spring, with heavier clothing in the winter.
