Paris City TourGuided Paris sightseeing includes the Champs-Élysées, the Arc de Triomphe, Place de la Concorde, Notre Dame and a highlight visit to the Louvre. |
St. Bernadette’s Grotto
The Grotto where Mary conversed with Bernadette. Fourteen year old Bernadette Soubirous had a vision of the Virgin Mary in a grotto near Lourdes, France in 1858. Despite some public skepticism, Bernadette held to her belief in the visions, which eventually were accepted as genuine by officials of the Catholic church. A shrine was built at the grotto in Lourdes, and the waters are still considered by many to have miraculous healing properties. Bernadette later joined a convent in Nevers, France, where she spent her adult life. After her death she was beatified in 1925 and canonized in 1933 by Pope Pius XI. |
Monet’s Giverny
Claude Monet House Visit Claude Monet’s house and beautiful gardens in Giverny and the Bayeux Tapestry Museum in Normandy. |
Nimes Roman Arena and Maison Carre
The Roman Arena is one of the best preserved amphiteatres from the Roman world. It was built around the end of the 1st century AD for the presentation of hunts and animal or gladiator combats. Over 23,000 people could find a place on the thirty four terraces in the Cavea. In the Middle Ages, the ambient insecurity saw the Arena transformed into a fortress. Until 1706, it was shelter for the entire village, with houses, churches and even a castle. Restoration work has meant that it can once again be used for shows and events. |

Visit the Benedictine Monastery at Mont St. Michel
A Benedictine Abbey in the Diocese of Avranches, Normandy, Mont St. Michel is unquestionably the finest example both of French medieval architecture and of a fortified abbey. The buildings of the monastery are piled round a conical mass of rock which rises abruptly out of the waters of the Atlantic to the height of 300 feet, on the summit of which stands the great church. This rock is nearly a mile from the shore, but in 1880 a causeway was built across the dangerous quicksand that occupies this space and is exposed at low water, so that there is now no danger in approaching the abbey. |
Avignon’s Papal Palace
Enjoy a highlight morning visit to Avignon’s magnificent Papal Palace and see the famous bridge. With the arrival of the popes in the 14th Century, Avignon became a second Rome. The Palace of the Popes, home to the Sovereign Pontiffs in the 14th century, is the largest Gothic palace in Europe.
