Experience all the best of Eastern Europe on our 15-day Highlights of Eastern Europe tour. Go behind the former Iron Curtain and discover this fascinating and less traveled region of Europe. After arrival into Budapest, we visit the twin sides of Buda and Pest. Visit the Castle district and Matthias Church, then gaze over the Danube from Fisherman’s Bastion. We cross the Tatra Mountains toward our next wonderful destination Krakow. Krakow was the seat of Poland’s kings for centuries and your local guide will revel you with tales from the past on your walking tour. Head to Wawal Hill to visit the castle and cathedral.
We will spend some reflective moments in the city and concentration camp of Oswiecim, better known throughout the world by its German name, Auschwitz, the most infamous site of the Holocaust. Our next stop is the 14th century Monastery of Jasna Gora, famous for the Black Madonna, said to have been painted by St. Luke
In Warsaw, see the “wedding cake” Palace of Culture and the Chopin Memorial. Pay your respects at the Monument of the Ghetto Heroes.
From Warsaw head into Germany and see the Brandenburg Gate and drive along the Unter den Linden in former East Berlin. Also, see the Opera House and don’t miss the great shopping opportunities in Berlin.
Enjoy a city tour of Dresden on our way to Prague. Then visit 1000 year-old Prague Castle; explore the town square with its famous astronomical clock and enjoy some of Europe’s most lively nightlife. Continue on to the delightful Czech town of Cesky Krumlov and enjoy the wonders of small town Czech Republic.
The tour concludes in magical Vienna; visit the splendid grandeur of Schonbrunn Palace and take in some of the fantastic cafes this city is known for after seeing the sights along the “Ringstrasse’.

Visit St.Vitus Cathedral and the Astronomical Clock in PragueSt. Vitus’s Cathedral is the largest and the most important church in Prague and is where the coronations of Czech kings and queens takes place. The remains of provincial patron saints, sovereigns, noblemen and archbishops are interred here. St. Vitus Cathedral lies in the third courtyard of the Prague castle (Hradcany) and is the religious heart of the whole country. Work on the cathedral began in 1344 when the Bohemian Bishopric was promoted to Archbishopric, but was finally finished in 1929. The first architect was the Frenchman Matthew of Arras. After his death, Swabian Peter Parler took over. His masons’ lodge continued to work on the building until the Hussite Wars. Finally completed by architects and artists of the 19th and 20th centuries. The main attraction of the cathedral is the Chapel of the main Czech patron saint ’good king’ Wenceslas. The magnificient chapel of St. Wenceslas also contains the Czech crown jewels. |

In this historic country mansion we will enjoy a delicious dinner in one of the elegant dining rooms. Warsaw - Chopin ConcertThe spirit of Warsaw and the music of Chopin go hand in hand. This exclusive private recital of his music will be performed for you by a celebrated Polish pianist in a concert venue located in the center of Warsaw. Champagne will be served during the intermission. |

Prague - Romantic Prague By NightEnjoy your introduction to Prague. Start with an evening river cruise through the old city with drinks included. We then explore the narrow medieval streets either by miniature motorized train or minibus. (Occasionally this excursion may be operated without the river cruise at €33). |
Krakow - Polish Dinner with Folklore ShowEnjoy a generous selection from the traditional Polish cuisine in a restaurant in the countryside. A local, beautifully dressed folk group and a live band will entertain you with songs and dances during your dinner. Drinks included. |
Prague - Jewish PragueThis tour shows us an aspect of Prague's history that has had a significant impact on the city's development since the medieval era. We visit two of the many synagogues as well as Europe's oldest surviving Jewish cemetery, all in the heart of the old town. |
Budapest - Danube Cruise Dinner & DrinksThe most leisurely way to discover this fairy-tale city is a guided cruise on the Danube. You will see Margaret Island, the Parliament Building, Castle Hill with the Fisherman’s Bastion, the Royal Palace, the Citadel and the University while enjoying a sumptuous buffet and fine Hungarian wine. |

Budapest - Treasures of BudapestThe Hungarian Parliament building is one of the largest and most ornate parliamentary buildings in the world. On a private guided tour of this Gothic-revival marvel we see the Hungarian crown jewels along with the Crown of St. Stephan. The next stop is recently restored St. Stephen’s Basilica dedicated to the patron saint of Hungary, with its imposing renaissance-inspired dome. Our tour concludes with a visit to the atmospheric Central Market Hall with time for strolling and shopping. |
Berlin - Highlights of Former East BerlinWe first make a visit to the Soviet War Memorial in Trepow Park. Afterwards, we continue to the East Side Gallery, the largest stretch of the former Berlin Wall. Finally we drive to Checkpoint Charlie and visit the museum documenting nearly 30 years of dramatic escape attempts across the 'Iron Curtain'. |
