Trip Itinerary
Day 1 USA - Milan
VIP Door-to-Door Transfer to your local airport for your overnight flight to Milan.
Day 2 Arrive Milan - Como
After arrival you will be transferred to your hotel in the heart of the Italian Lakes. This evening enjoy a Welcome Drink and dinner with your Tour Director.

Day 3 Como (Lugano Included)
Today’s excursion takes us over the border into Switzerland to the fashionable lakeside resort of Lugano. Here you have time to shop along Via Nassa, enjoy an espresso on the flower festooned Piazza Riforma or walk in the shade of Parco Ciani’s magnificent old trees. We return to our hotel viewing the splendor of the Swiss Alps that surround us!

Day 4 Como - Verona - Cortina d'Ampezzo
This morning we drive first to the cypress-clad hills of Verona to admire the Roman Arena, still in use today, and Juliet’s balcony from Shakespeare’s famous 'Romeo & Juliet.' Enjoy leisure time to stroll through the picturesque market square before heading to Cortina, the heart of the Italian Dolomite Mountains.

Day 5 Cortina d'Ampezzo (Dolomite Mountain Passes Included)
Crystalline lakes, the smell of fresh pine and dramatic mountain landscapes surround us as we enjoy some of the most beautiful scenery Europe has to offer. Look out for royal eagles as we enjoy an excursion over some of the Dolomites’ most famous passes. We return to the hotel mid-afternoon for an evening at leisure.

Day 6 Cortina d'Ampezzo - Venice
A morning drive brings us to the unique and romantic city of Venice where an included cruise takes us to St. Mark’s Square to view the Bridge of Sighs and Doge’s Palace. Also featured is a glassblowing demonstration of Venetian craftsmen fashioning their delicate objects in an age old manner. Enjoy an included highlight Venetian gondola ride, leisurely wander the narrow streets of Venice and shop in the charming old-world shops before cruising across the serene Venetian lagoon to your hotel on nearby Lido.

Day 7 Venice
Enjoy an entire day of leisure to wander the streets of Venice. Stroll over the famous Rialto Bridge and mingle with the locals in the greengrocers, fishmongers and open-air food markets: a marvelous opportunity to discover the Venice of the Venetians with its silent canals, brick facades and peaceful charm.

Day 8 Venice - Bologna - Montecatini
South along the Highway of the Sun to Bologna, the gastronomic capital of Italy where sightseeing includes Giambologna’s Neptune Fountain in Piazza Nettuno and the old town. During leisure time savor the local specialties in the many trattorias and ristoranti. Late afternoon, continue to Tuscany for a leisurely three-night stay in the fashionable spa town of Montecatini. For dinner this evening, enjoy the freedom of your Dine-Around program, and choose from a selection of restaurants recommended by your Tour Director.

Day 9 Montecatini (At leisure or Optional Cirque Terre Excursion)
Enjoy a full day at leisure in the beautiful Tuscan spa town of Montecatini or take an optional excursion to one of Italy’s best kept secrets: Cinque Terre, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997. Until recently this wild but hospitable coastline, with its vineyards and fishing villages could only be reached by boat, train or donkey! Visit the villages of Vernazza and Monterosso before returning to your hotel!

Day 10 Montecatini (Florence Included)
Signoria Square, Santa Croce Basilica and the Baptistry are all included visits on your panoramic sightseeing tour with your local Florentine and Renaissance expert. Take time later to shop for gold and leather, or relax in one of the elegant sidewalk cafes on the Piazza della Republica before returning to Montecatini for an evening at leisure.

Day 11 Montecatini - Rome (Hidden Tuscany Excursion)
The morning begins with a pastoral drive south through the heart of 'Hidden Tuscany.' Via the Abbey of Sant’Antimo, where today the monks still sing Gregorian chants, we cross the beautiful Orcia Valley and head to Pienza. Enjoy this quaint Tuscan village at leisure before continuing south to the Eternal City of Rome.

Day 12 Rome
Your guided sightseeing tour views the Circus Maximus and the Roman Forum and visits St. Peter’s Basilica, and the famous Colosseum. The balance of the day is free to relax in a sidewalk café. Perhaps see the Basilica of St. Paul or the catacombs on the Appian Way. This evening enjoy a Highlight Farewell Dinner in a local Roman restaurant.

Day 13 Rome - USA
We bid farewell to Italy.
