Step on board for a train trip through Mexico’s
Copper Canyon, one of North America’s great
journeys. The canyon system – comprised of six
massive gorges – is four times larger than the Grand Canyon and more than 1,000 feet deeper in some places.
Before you board the “train ride in the sky,” you’ll travel from Arizona into Mexico, with stops in the Sonoran Desert and San Carlos. After sailing on the Sea of Cortez, you’ll explore the colonial city of Alamos and
the 16th-century town of El Fuerte de Montesclaros.
The journey into Copper Canyon climbs to 7,000 feet through spectacular tunnels and bridges. But you’ll do more than just pass through this breathtaking area. You’ll meet
the nomadic people who’ve lived here for
centuries and learn about the geology of
this dramatic landscape.
