Trip Itinerary
Day 1 USA - Munich
Overnight flight to Munich.
In-flight Meal
Day 2 Arrive Munich:
After arrival you will be transferred to your hotel. This evening enjoy a Welcome Reception and dinner with your Tour Director.

Day 3 Munich:
Morning included sightseeing views the Olympic Stadium and the famous Glockenspiel in the Marienplatz town hall square. Enjoy a relaxing afternoon in the Bavarian capital or take an optional trip into the surrounding Alps and visit Linderhof, the hunting lodge of “Mad King Ludwig.” Stop in the Passion Play village of Oberammergau before returning to Munich. Tonight, you may wish to try a stein of local beer in the atmosphere of a German beer hall.

Day 4 Munich - Salzburg:
We are surrounded by breathtaking scenery as we enjoy a highlight visit to the famous Kehlstein mountain retreat, otherwise known as the Eagles Nest (weather permitting). Admire the uninterrupted views of the surrounding German Alps before continuing to Salzburg, where our guided sightseeing tour includes “Sound of Music” locations and views the birthplace of Mozart.

Day 5 Salzburg:
A full day to explore this alpine Austrian gem! An optional tour will be available to the nearby Salzkammergut Lake District – shop in the famous Getreidegasse for the local marzipan specialty of “Mozart Kugeln” or enjoy traditional “Kaffee und Kuchen” coffee and cakes in the Mozart square.

Day 6 Salzburg - Vienna:
Our first stop this morning is the famous monastery of Melk for an included visit of this imposing structure. Continue along the Danube Valley, through the Wachau Gorge. Surrounded by castles and vineyards we arrive at the quaint village of Durnstein to view Richard the Lionheart’s castle before continuing to Vienna, our home for 3 relaxing nights.

Day 7 & 8 Vienna:
Our sightseeing tour reveals both imperial and contemporary Vienna. We’ll stop for photographs at Emperor Franz Josef’s Hofburg Palace and see the Cathedral of St. Stephen and the State Opera. Then, a special included highlight visit to Schoenbrunn Palace with its magnificently preserved staterooms and exquisite gardens. This evening why not enjoy dinner at a characteristic “heurige” inn! Day 8 is at leisure or join an optional tour across the border into Hungary and its capital of Budapest.

Day 9 Vienna - Innsbuck:
Stop in the village of Mondsee, where we see the church of the wedding in the “Sound of Music.” Continue through stunning scenery as we head for Innsbruck, two time Olympic city and capital of the Austrian Tyrol region. Sightseeing views the Olympic Ski Jump, the Golden Roof, the Wilten Basilica and Maria Theresia Avenue.

Day 10 Innsbruck :
A full day to enjoy this alpine city or to explore the surrounding countryside with an optional excursion over the famous Brenner Pass into Italy and visit the quaint village of Vipiteno.

Day 11 Innsbruck - St. Moritz:
We journey today through a region considered by many to be the most beautiful in the world, with tiny villages and quaint houses in the classic Alpine style. Soon, we are in Switzerland and arrive at the elegant resort of St. Moritz.

Day 12 St. Moritz:
A full day at leisure to relax in this world famous ski resort or perhaps take an optional excursion by train over the Bernina Pass.

Day 13 St. Moritz - Zermatt:
We first visit Stresa on Lake Maggiore where the landscape is decorated with chestnut groves, vineyards and beautiful gardens. We travel down the road Napoleon built for his troops, over the Simplon pass, and along the Rhone valley before we begin our ascent by cogwheel train to a relaxing 2-night stay in the mountain resort of Zermatt.

Day 14 Zermatt:
A full day at leisure to enjoy this exceptional resort magnificently situated beneath the famous Matterhorn. This is Switzerland as you have always imagined it! Take the opportunity to ride on one of Europe’s most exciting cable car rides and experience the breathtaking panorama.

Day 15 Zermatt -Lucerne:
A scenic drive this morning over the Grimsell Pass to the woodcarving centre of Brienz. Your stop here brings you closer to the locals as you take lunch with a local family as part of our Explore & Discover™ series. Enjoy local Swiss fare and practice your Swiss German language skills. Continue over the Brunig pass to the resort of Lucerne. Nestled in the Swiss Alps on a beautiful lake, Lucerne is our home for a relaxing 2-night stay.

Day 16 Lucerne:
Our panoramic sightseeing tour includes a stop at the Lion Monument, the famous stone sculpture in honor of the heroic Swiss Guard of Louis XVI. At leisure, why not take a trip to nearby Mount Stanserhorn, famed for its splendid views of the surrounding alpine peaks. Tonight, reminisce about the highlights of Munich, Switzerland and Austria at your Highlight Farewell Dinner.

Day 17 Lucerne - Zurich - USA:
We bid farewell to this Alpine Wonderland.
