DAY 1 USA - Madrid Madrid, Spain
VIP Door-to-Door Transfer to your local airport for your overnight flight to Madrid.
DAY 2 Arrive Madrid Madrid, Spain
Arrive in Spain's capital, Madrid, for a relaxing three-night stay. This evening enjoy a Welcome Drink with your Tour Director.
DAY 3 Madrid Madrid, Spain
Our morning sightseeing tour takes us to view the Royal Palace, Puerta del Sol and Plaza Espana with its monument to Cervantes. Then on to a highlight visit to the palatial Prado Museum, one of the world’s greatest art galleries with works by El Greco, Goya, Italian and Dutch masters. Later perhaps join an optional excursion to El Escorial, Philip II’s Monastery Palace.

DAY 4 Madrid Madrid, Spain
Enjoy a full day at leisure in this cosmopolitan city or perhaps join an optional excursion to Toledo, the ancient capital of Castile, perched above a loop in the Tagus River. Visit the synagogue and the Church of Santo Tome where you will see the masterpiece by the painter El Greco. Explore at leisure and shop for the local handicraft of decorated damascened steel before returning to your hotel.

DAY 5 Madrid - Barcelona Barcelona, Spain
Cross the arid plains of Castile today to Catalonia’s Barcelona, Spain’s second largest city. For dinner this evening, enjoy the freedom of your Dine-Around program, and choose from a selection of restaurants recommended by your Tour Director.

DAY 6 Barcelona Barcelona, Spain
Barcelona, host of the 1992 Olympic Games, abounds in historical sights including the magnificent Cathedral, which we visit, the old Gothic Quarter and Gaudi’s unusual Sagrada Familia Church. See the Columbus Monument and the elegant Paseo de Gracia during your morning tour. This afternoon continue to Montserrat to marvel at the dramatic peaks surrounding this peaceful place of pilgrimage.

DAY 7 Barcelona Barcelona, Spain
Enjoy a full day at leisure to explore Spain's most vibrant city.

DAY 8 Barcelona - Pamplona - San Sebastian Barcelona, Spain
Past the Navarra wine-producing region we head for the city of the running bulls, Pamplona. Perhaps take a stroll to the famous Estafeta Street before we continue north to the Bay of Biscay and the beautiful seaside town of San Sebastian. The evening is at leisure to stroll the elegant gardens and promenades.

DAY 9 San Sebastian - Bilbao - Burgos - Leon Bilbao, Spain
This morning a highlight stop in Bilbao, where we visit the spectacular and modern Guggenheim Museum created by the North American architect Frank O. Gehry. Next stop is Burgos, the land of El Cid and his burial place. We continue on to Leon where the highlights include the market square and the arcaded Plaza Mayor in the medieval Old Town.

DAY 10 Leon - Santiago de Compostela - Porto Porto, Portugal
This morning enjoy a special visit to the 11th and 12th-century cathedral of Santiago, resting place of the relics of Spain’s patron saint, St. James, and destination of pilgrims from all parts of Europe since the Middle Ages. See the Door of Glory, the Goldsmith’s Door, the magnificent façade and enjoy free time before departing for Porto, Portugal’s second town.

DAY 11 Porto Porto, Portugal
Our sightseeing tour views the pastel shades of the buildings and the remarkable bridges across the Douro Valley. Visit the Stock Exchange, known for its ornate Arabian Hall and one of the many port wine cellars. Enjoy a leisurely afternoon to explore the downtown area or the historic suburbs.

DAY 12 Porto - Fatima - Lisbon Fatima, Portugal
After a leisurely breakfast, head to Fatima to see the shrine and Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary, where pilgrims flock to the spot where three shepherds had an apparition of the Virgin. Continue to the capital, Lisbon, for two leisurely nights.

DAY 13 Lisbon Lisbon, Portugal
Begin your stay with an included tour of the city stopping at the Monument of the Discoveries, Tower of Belem perched on the banks of the Tagus, and the Hieronymite Monastery. Here we will see the tomb of Vasco da Gama. From this city many of the explorers of the New World set sail, and we will hear about Magellan, Diaz and Henry as we tour this exciting Portuguese capital. A tour of the Alfama district and the Liberdade tree- lined boulevard are also part of our morning sightseeing. In the afternoon, plenty of time to enjoy optional tours to the Atlantic coast, the Palace of Sintra and the pretty harbor of Cascais. Tonight, we say our goodbyes to our newfound friends during an included Highlight Farewell Dinner at a local restaurant.
