Fatima and the Shrine of Our Lady of the RosaryVisit legendary Fatima where on May 13, 1917 the Virgin Mary is reported to have appeared to three shepherd children. Since the recognition of this apparition by the Vatican in the 1930’s, this has become one of the most important shrines in Europe and places of pilgrimage. You will admire the 213 foot high tower crested by a bronze crown and crystal cross and have time to enjoy this peaceful, holy place and shop for religious souvenirs. |

Guggenheim MuseumVisit the famous Guggenheim Meuseum in Bilbao. Designed by the North American architect Frank O. Gehry, this unique Museum built on a 32,500 square meter site in the center of Bilbao represents an amazing construction feat. On one side it runs down to the waterside of the Nervion River, 16 meters below the level of the rest of the city of Bilbao. One end is pierced through by the huge Puente de La Salve, one of the main access routes into the city. |

Lisbon – Sintra, Cascais & EstorilFirst, we enjoy a scenic drive along the river Tagus and the Atlantic coast to view the Moorish-influenced Sintra palace, summer haven for monarchs since the 15th century. Next, we travel to seaside Cascais with the atmosphere of a traditional fishing village before returning to Lisbon via the fashionable resort city of Estoril, whose popular casino makes it the social center of this “Coast of Kings.” |
Madrid – Fountains, Plazas & DinnerThis evening’s program includes a relaxing tour through the elegant new district of the city with its wide, tree-lined avenues and decorative fountains. Later, we join the locals at the Plaza Mayor for some “people-watching” before our included dinner in the old quarter of the city, drinks included. |
Lisbon – Dinner with Fado & Folk DancesTreat yourself to dinner at a characteristic Portuguese taverna in the old quarter of Bairro Alto, with wine and coffee included. Then, relax and enjoy the after-dinner entertainment of a Fado evening complete with Folk dances! |
Madrid – Royal Palace & West ParkDon’t miss this unique opportunity to visit and enjoy one of the best-preserved palaces in Europe. King Juan Carlos’ ancestors lived there for 200 years. We shall see the Royal Apartments, the Royal Pharmacy, Banqueting Hall and the Throne Room still in use today for special occasions. Marvel at the furniture, clocks, paintings and tapestries. We will also visit the beautiful Parque del Oeste (West Park) affording magnificent views of the city. |
San Sebastian – Excursion to Little ParisA short drive across the border will take you the old fishing village of Saint-Jean-de-Luz, in the French Basque country, where the great composer Maurice Ravel was born. In this charming place, Louis XIV married Marie-Thérèse, a Spanish princess, in 1660, to ratify the Treaty of the Pyrenees. Here, you can enjoy the atmosphere of the former “Little Paris”, as it used to be called, see the harbor and the beach and take a stroll along the famous Rue Gambetta, with its small shops, in the old district. A glass of French wine will be included. |
Madrid – ToledoToledo is one of the oldest cities in Europe, crossroads of civilizations and heritage to mankind. Its unique location and exceptional beauty make it an interesting experience of the Spanish culture, both past and present. We view the famed 13th century Gothic Cathedral and have time to shop for the excellent damascened Toledo steel. |
Barcelona – Olympic Barcelona & Mediterranean DinnerEnjoy a dinner of Mediterranean specialities with drinks, at one of the elegant restaurants of this vibrant city.
