Day 1 USA - Vienna

VIP Door-to-Door Transfer to your local airport for your overnight flight to Vienna.

DAY 2 Arrive Vienna

Welcome to Vienna for a relaxing 3-night stay. On arrival at Vienna Airport, your transfer leaves for the tour hotel at 09:00, 12:00 & 15:00. This evening enjoy a Welcome Reception with your Tour Director.

DAY 3 - 4 Vienna Free Day

Enjoy included sightseeing that reveals both imperial and contemporary Vienna with your local expert guide starting with a special highlight visit to Schönbrunn Palace with its magnificently preserved staterooms and exquisite gardens. Later on we’ll stop for photographs at Emperor Franz Josef ’s Hofburg Palace and see the Cathedral of St. Stephen and the State Opera. Day 4 is at leisure. Why not take a ride in a Fiaker, a Viennese horse drawn carriage or explore the Vienna Woods?

DAY 5 Vienna - Melk - Salzburg

We travel along the Blue Danube River this morning for a stop at Dürnstein to view Richard the Lionheart’s castle. Through the Wachau Gorge and surrounded by quaint villages and vineyards we arrive at the famous monastery of Melk for an included visit of this imposing structure. Continue west to Salzburg, our home for the next 3 relaxing nights where our guided sightseeing tour includes “Sound of Music” locations and a stop at the birthplace of Mozart. This evening, enjoy a festive Highlight Dinner in a local restaurant with Austrian specialties and wine.

DAY 6 - 7 Salzburg Free Day

Two full days free to explore this alpine Austrian gem at your leisure! Optional tours will be available to the nearby Lake District and the Eagle’s Nest at Berchtesgaden.

DAY 8 Salzburg - Cesky Krumlov - Prague

This morning we continue through lush farmland before we cross the Austrian border. Our first stop is in medieval Cesky Krumlov, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where time has stood still for centuries. Through the rich and historic countryside of Bohemia to the beautiful city of Prague for a pleasant three night stay.

DAY 9 - 10 Prague Free Day

Sightseeing of Prague with your local guide features a visit to the 1,000-year-old Hradcany Castle, former residence of Bohemian kings, and views of the Cathedral of St. Vitus and the Old Town Square with its Astronomical Clock. Admire the many spires and bridges from Castle Hill. At leisure, seek out the locations used in the movies “Amadeus” or “Mission Impossible,” take a romantic walk over the Charles Bridge, shop for crystal, try a Czech beer in one of the local beer halls or join an optional tour to nearby Dresden.

DAY 11 Prague - Bratislava - Budapest

A scenic drive south today through the vineyards of Moravia to Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. We see the medieval old town before continuing across the Hungarian border to Budapest, our home for the next 3 leisurely nights. This evening, as part of our Explore & Discover series, hear from a local of Budapest how it was to grow up in the Communist era and about the changes in Hungary since ‘the fall of the wall’.

DAY 12 - 13 Budapest Free Day

The main sights of the twin cities of Buda and Pest included in our sightseeing tour with your local Hungarian expert are views of Gellert Hill, the Royal Palace and a visit to the 13th century Church of Matthias. The rest of your time is free to perhaps shop with the locals at the Vásárcsarnok (Central Market), indulge in the local pancakes or cruise on the beautiful Danube River. On your last evening, savor local delights at our memorable Highlight Farewell Dinner with traditional gypsy music!

DAY 14 Budapest - USA

We bid farewell to Europe. Departure transfers arrive at Budapest Airport at 07:00 and 11:00.
