Grand European, our parent company The Travel Corporation (TTC), and its family of brands want you to travel confidently and with peace of mind. To that end, we’ve been leading the tour industry by establishing enhanced hygiene measures and physical distancing standards, collaborating closely with the World Tourism and Travel Council (WTTC) to develop its “Safe Travels and Seamless Traveler Journey” global protocols. This coupled with existing government authority regulations and the World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines, has formed the foundation of our stringent distancing and hygiene travel protocols.
Here are some important new steps and procedures that TTC has implemented to enhance hygiene protocols, to comply with physical distancing requirements by relevant government authorities, and to give you peace of mind when you travel in these new times.
NEW – Exclusive Industry First Dedicated Wellbeing Director
Exclusive to Trafalgar, Insight Vacations, and Luxury Gold trips, our Wellbeing Directors will be available on trips of more than 20 guests (excluding Australia and New Zealand trips). They are dedicated to supporting and assisting your wellbeing throughout your vacation to ensure daily sanitization of the state-of-the-art motor coach and ensure all hygiene, physical distancing and wellbeing regulations are adhered to each day. They will be on hand sharing information on the best wellbeing travel tips, as well as ensuring that all aspects of your trip meet the established criteria of The Travel Corporation, WTTC, and WHO wellbeing protocol standards.
Expertly-Trained Travel Directors
Our Travel Directors have been newly trained in enhanced hygiene and physical distancing procedures. During your trip, they operate with a caring duty of care and monitor the hygiene etiquette of our guests, reacting and advising as needed, to ensure high standards are maintained. Before you travel, we will also keep you well informed about new protocols required in these areas and ask that you cooperate with and heed the advice and direction of our Travel Directors while on your trip. Our Travel Directors have preventative measures in place for your well-being and in the event that any unexpected issues arise on-trip, they will activate additional protocols.
Our Drivers are trained with the latest hygiene protocols and will clean and disinfect all surfaces including handrails, door handles, tables, seats, air-conditioning filters and overhead lockers on a daily basis. They’ll get you from one destination to the next with ease, and clean and disinfect all coach surfaces throughout your trip.

Distancing & Hygiene Protocols
Pre-Trip Travel Declaration
All team members and guests will complete a pre-trip travel declaration before joining their trip as part of their required pre-trip registration ay my.getours.com. If a guest has tested positive for COVID-19 (or is traveling with someone who has), they will not be able to join the trip until cleared as "fit to travel" by a certified medical professional.
Stringent On-the-Road Protocols
Our customized luxury coaches are sanitized before the start of your trip and have always been kept to very high standards. Following the outbreak of COVID-19, we have taken additional measures to elevate our hygiene and sanitary practices in accordance with guidance from the World Health Organization (WHO) and as required, applicable government regulations.
Our fleet of touring coaches are equipped with modern, well-maintained air-conditioning systems that are able to completely filter and change the air within the vehicle, on average, every 2 to 3 minutes to help protect the health and wellbeing of all of our guests. To put this in perspective, the air inside a well-ventilated home will only be recycled every 10-20 minutes. The coaches we use are able to refresh the air faster than most hospital operating theaters, which is mandated at 3-4 minutes. The systems are designed to create an efficient vertical and safe airflow that helps ensure that no impurities like COVID-19 aerosols are left to spread throughout the coach. In conjunction with these high-spec air filtration systems, our already-thorough cleaning protocols have been further enhanced, by using medical-grade disinfectants and cleaning products.
All our guests are asked to follow hygiene practices recommended by the World Health Organization including the thorough and regular washing of hands and sanitizing when required. Hand sanitizer is freely available on board for your use throughout the day. Guests should bring their own face mask and gloves, and additional hand sanitizer to make you feel comfortable, as these will be required to be worn in public in some countries. Should an unexpected situation arise, additional face masks, rubber gloves, antiviral sprays and wipes will be available for guest distribution on all trips.

We are very selective in who we work with and choose to only use hotels, restaurants, ground handlers and venues that take the health and well-being of our guests as seriously as we do and agree to meet expected guidelines and specifications. We only work with establishments that we are confident will consistently adhere to our standards.
Trips will operate with a number of empty seats to allow for extra physical distancing. Adapting to the right size groups, based on government distancing requirements, you can rest assured that you will travel with the comfort of your own personal space. Have peace of mind that all of the experiences, hotels, and restaurants you’ll enjoy on your trip, have been vetted to ensure they adhere to social distancing and hygiene guidelines.
24/7 Incident Response
As part of The Travel Corporation (TTC), we are kept up to date with all government advisories and travel alerts on a daily basis and are continually in touch with our partners on the ground in each destination. Also, rest assured that during your trip, our teams work to ensure our supplier partners (hotels, restaurants, museums, and other venues) are also applying the same standard to these new hygiene and distancing protocols, to the extent possible.
Incident Response Protocol
Should an incident arise on trip, protocols are in place. We will assist and direct distancing, local medic support and testing. We will liaise with local authorities to follow directives, which will vary across countries, and support you every step of the way.
TTC and its family of brands meet all health and sanitation guidelines as set in the TOURCARE Guidelines for Tour Operators, developed in collaboration with The United States Tour Operators Association (USTOA), and the European Tourism Association (ETOA).
