I would have given a 4 stars ,but our hotel room arrangements during the entire trip were very bad. We requested a room away from elevator on our registration , but 7 out off 9 hotels we were put rooms right next to elevators. We were very upset and felt that we were treated as the second class customers. We request GET give us an explanation
Response from Grand European Travel:
We are sorry to hear about your disappointment. We normally cannot guarantee room allocations since they are handled by the hotels, but we will look into this with Insight Vacations and someone from our Guest Relations team will be in touch with you shortly.

I called or e-mailed Grand European. They sent me an invoice, I sent them the money and that was it. There were no special services. I never heard back from anyone, except for a card that was sent though the mail thanking me for their services. Catlin Ryan, the person I initially talked to has since left GET. Also, I ended up booking my own room for an extra night in Barcelona because I could book it online for much less than booking it through Grand European. I was told that GET had a contract and they had to honor that contract for the price of the rooms. That didn't make much sense to me.
Vacation
The trip itself (through InSight Vacations) was fast paced and we went to all the sites that one would want to see in a visit to Spain and Portugal.

Yes, I would recommend GET. Booking was easy as was making changes. Agents were friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful.
Vacation
I was disappointed by the visit to Obidos. The publlshed details of the experience were not accomplished: we were UNable to walk on the walls, nor could we access the castle. The town was overcrowded due to its hosting an International Chocolate Festival. Someone in the central office needs to be in charge of checking daily events in the various tour cities and towns and matching those events against the tour arrival dates to avoid the debacle we experienced in Obidos.
Response from Grand European Travel:
Thank you for your suggestions and we do apologize for your disappointing experience in Obidos. We will be sure to pass your comments on to our team at Insight Vacations.
