Worst service ever. Information inly sent to one person. Impossible to reach Tess by phone,. No answers to questions. All the invoices lumped together. The whole experience was beyond ridiculous and frustrating. I wouldn't recommend GET to anyone.

Insight did a great job even though GET had never told them about me being a vegetarian and having severe motion sickness. I will book directly with Insight in the future. GET was useless.

I had a great experience with Randy as my Travel Specialist. He answered all of my questions without hesitation, never pushy, always gracious.

My tour director was Dom. He was so kind, helpful, knowledgeable, and lots of jokes. This is a wonderful tour of Spain, Portugal, and Gibraltar. Dom kept us up to date with daily emails of where we were headed next. Food was wonderful, historic sights, museums, castles, Roman aqueduct, etc.

The booking experience with Daniel Pelletier, of Grand European Travels, was awesome. Being new to international travel, Daniel explained how the tour packages work and the requirements for travel abroad. He was very patient in addressing any concerns we had. He booked our first European experience: Country Roads of Southern Italy and Sicily in 2019. The booking process went smoothly and the trip was absolutely incredible! We booked the Best of Spain and Portugal with Daniel in early 2020 for travel in October 2020. Shortly after the booking, travel came to a halt due to Covid-19. Daniel reassured us that our trip and payment were safe. We postpone our trip 1three times due to Covid. Each time I spoke to a different agent, Skylar, Barbara and Lisa. All were very helpful in this process We finally took the Best of Spain and Portugal trip the end of April 2023. The trip was definitely worth the wait!!
Response from Grand European Travel:
We pride ourselves as being a great team and it's so nice to have that effort recognized and appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with booking with us and your time in Spain and Portugal. We hope this is just the first of many memorable trips.

Vacation
The destinations in the tour represented an excellent overview of both Spain and Portugal. There is so much history and culture to absorb! The Tour Director, Lola Torija, was phenomenal! She exuded so much enthusiasm and knowledge of the areas that made this vacation exceptional! Her energy carried over to all 40 guests and we all became wonderful friends after two weeks together! The optional excursions took us to places that one traveling on their own may not consider or experience. This was a truly memorable vacation!!

GET does a great job; however, when INSIGHT cancelled its Jan. Spain/Portugal tour (and which I had fully paid), GET put me on a Trafalger tour w/o checking with me first - it was a bait and switch situation to which I take acception. GET's justification was that it would cost me less money (disregarding that it was a different tour and didn't include Barcelona). At my request, GET reworked my tour w/INSIGHT for February - it still cost me an additional $50 - and that additional cost was originally over $550 over the Janurary tour and the published tour cost for February. GET had to take direct action to resolve at least $500 of this overcost to me. If I had not already paid for the entire trip for January, I might not have been so miffed.

The tour lived up to the name of the tour company INSIGHT - for indeed this was a most INSIGHTFUL tour. The tour director and coach driver were superb in every respect - plus some Both went way out of their way to ensure a safe, interesting, joyful, learning experience. I cannot produce enough positive adjectives to describe their professional and accommodate spirit.

Randy was (as usual) excellent answer the myriad of questions I had about the trip and also helping me to get my claim (from two cancelled GET tours in May 2020) sent to the insurance carrier.

We really enjoyed our visit to both Spain, Gibraltar and Portugal. Betty Griffith (with Insight Vacations) is extremely knowledgeable (having done this tour 7 times this year alone) and has great customer service skills. I’d recommend her and Insight Vacations without hesitation!

Experienced and exceptionally knowledgeable travel director made each stop a glimpse of history. Our first Insight booking but I think it won't be our last. Booking was really easy even with the loosening of Covid restrictions we had all the info we needed to comply. Actually our flight home was cancelled by the airline and the Insight team alerting us with our re-routing flights was the first we heard of it- even before the airline notified us!! Great job Booking! I loved the "flourishes" our director provided along the way as another layer of where the residents find their heritage snd honor it. I really have only one "petty" suggestion-blue tooth ability on the Whispers would be great as most people have their own preferred head sets. We're looking toward a trip to France (as soon as we learn some French, that is) and will be scouting the offerings for that snd Scotland on Insight. Our other travel was nice but we found that Insight was just MORE of everything.
Response from Grand European Travel:
It sounds like your trip to Spain and Portugal was fantastic! We are certainly happy to hear about your positive experience. We would love to help you book that France trip when you're ready to travel again. Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We appreciate your feedback. Happy Travels!
