The travel specialist Barbara was a great help in planning this trip and answering all the questions.
Vacation
Overall this trip was very good. However, in a couple of cities the hotel was too far out of town & made it inconvenient and time consuming to go in to town during free time. Ireland is blessed with so much natural beauty and I really wish we had more time to explore at some of the sights like the Giants Causeway & the Blarney Castle. Two hours is not enough time to stand in long lines ( for women) for the toilets, grab lunch & explore the sights!

The booking process was easy. I sometimes felt though that after we booked we were left on our own with some of the details. We enjoyed our tour and the itinerary for the Country Roads of Ireland. Some hotels better than others and some optional tours better than others. The fine dining optional tour in Dublin was definitely not worth the cost. I had a medical emergency while in Ireland and the medical evacuation partner, On Call Intl., and TravelCorp. Intl., were very attentive and concerned and helpful. We would consider booking with GET again.
Response from Grand European Travel:
We are very sorry you had to cut your trip short and hope you are on your way to a full recovery .

This was my first trip to Europe and my first solo trip. I worked with Pam Spelman who was the most thoughtful, helpful young lady. She answered all of my questions (no matter how silly they might have been) and reassured me throughout the process of booking.
Response from Grand European Travel:
Thank you so much.  We will share your reply with Pam and look forward to helping you plan your next trip.

This was a great trip. The hotels were all 4 star, the Tour Director was an amazing wealth of knowledge and a lot of fun. Our coach driver could thread that coach through the eye of a needle. We saw so many varied and interesting sights it is going to take quite a while to sort through them both in the photos I took and all of my memories. Would I do it again? Definitely! Would I use Great European Travel again? Without a doubt! In fact, I can't wait for the release of their 2018 tour brochure!

Our tour guide (Patrick) and coach driver (Paddy) were very capable and professional. Patrick is very enthusiastic about Ireland and Ireland's heritage. I very much enjoyed the entertainers Patrick introduced us to. They presented the spirit of Ireland and the joy of being Irish. During our coach trip, Patrick would educate us about the landscape and important facts/details. This trip felt like a traveling class with fun and camaraderie. I appreciate being able to visit Belfast, our last night.. Some rain and walking and listening (via earphones) about the history of Belfast Oh, I forgot... the weather was marvelous -- sun prevailed. We could see the mountains off in the distance. This trip was exactly and more than I had anticipated.
Response from Grand European Travel:
It sounds like your trip went incredibly well. We're so happy that you enjoyed Ireland and it's beauty and the sunshine! Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experiences. We hope to welcome you on another trip very soon. Grand European Travel

I made the correct choice: selecting the Country Road of Ireland. Viewing the rolling hills with cattle, sheep and lambs. The houses, some of which had thatched roofs, were stately with flowers and foliage. I noticed that most Irish homes in the countryside do no have garage doors... Also noticed how clean the windows were. I would recommend this trip for people who want to learn about the history of Ireland and the trials, suffering and strength that this Isle of Green posses.

The trip was excellent. My only suggestion would be to better show how the optional experiences fit into the itinerary. Example, one day the tour had nothing to do if you did not go to the Aran Island optional experience. Katie Vaughn our tour director was the best and our driver Tom was superb. Thanks for a wonderful experience.
Response from Grand European Travel:
We couldn't be happier to see that you enjoyed your trip to Ireland. We appreciate your suggestions about the optional experiences and will be sharing them with our quality control team right away. Thank you for taking the time to write. Grand European Travel
