  • Lunch at Swore Farms Welcome to family owned and operated, Swore Farms! Our Mission: to enrich the community through healthy, delicious, fresh produce grown right here on the farm; educate children and youth through summer programs; and offer opportunities for quality family fun late summer through fall as they play in the corn maze & pumpkin patch and learn about agriculture. Our guests will be welcomed by Wendy. Wendy S Swore lives on a farm with a corn maze and a pumpkin patch where she raised her five kids, a dog, two geese, seven peacocks, eleven ducks, nineteen cats and two hundred thirty seven chickens. She farms in the summers, writes in the winter and would rather chew her leg off than eat something spicy. Mike & Wendy Swore have owned the farm for over 20 years. A 3rd generation farmer, Mike also works at the Farm Bureau as a Computer Network Tech. While Mike works in town Wendy cares for their 5 children and runs the farm while also being an award-winning author. Truly a family run operation, the Swore kids work on the farm every day alongside their parents. Mike parents, Jerry & Janiel Swore, are also invaluable assets and can often be seen working in the farm as well. Our experience will revolve around a tour of the farm to learn where and how crops are grown, what machines are used for, and a walk through the greenhouse. The tour will be followed by a lunch in the greenhouse. Along the way, guests will learn a bit more about Wendy, how she's managed to jungle handling a farm, raising 5 children and becoming an award-winning author. Takeaway Gift: a copy of The Wish & The Peacock -written by Wendy and listed as one of 2020's best Children's books of the year and is the first runner up to the 2020 Idaho Book of the Year. The story is written about a farm family that lives on the reservation and it offers a more in depth look into the lives of Wendy, her family and their love for the farm and this rural way of life.

We successfully booked our trip but due to Covid19, we didn't actually do the trip until Sept/Oct 2021. when GET rebooked our return flight, they errored on the departure time from Las Vegas on the day we were to depart so we had to spend the night in Las Vegas and depart the following day. GET paid for the hotel room but we had to pay out of pocket room taxes of $50.00 and food costs. We were not happy about having to spend the extra night in Las Vegas.
Vacation
We were told that the trip would have maximum 24 people and it turned out to be a bus full at 48 people. All of our fellow travelers were patient and kind but restroom stops and viewing stops were longer because we had to get so many people on and off the bus each time. The Parks we visited were scenically spectacular and our travel director and bus driver did a great job of getting us where we needed to be.

Prior to our trip, we were always kept informed of any changes or required paperwork, so we were well prepared for our trip
Vacation
Well, overall, we saw some breathtaking sights. The tour director, Pam, was friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Also, we enjoyed Adrian, our bus driver! We had a good group of people on our trip, which contributed to the overall good feeling throughout our travels. We were disappointed in the food choices, however. Given that it was the end of the season and many places had already closed, it became a little tedious to always be eating a cold sandwich or salad outside a grocery store, or sitting on a rock, or on a bench inside a store trying to balance food & drinks on our laps while shoppers walked past. One night we just stayed in our room & ordered pizza because the walk to the restaurants was too far for us to manage. A 45 minute wait for the pizza. The 3 planned dinners were very nice! We also enjoyed the little side trips, videos & music play list that added some local color to our days.
Response from Grand European Travel:
Thank you for your valuable feedback. We will be sure to share this with the team. We are so pleased to see that you enjoyed your trip overall and hope to see you again soon!

It was fine but we were not given a voucher to get from the Jackson airport into townStop using Trafalgar as your domestic partner
Response from Grand European Travel:
Thank you for taking the time to write with your feedback. It appears you made your own flight arrangements and we cannot be held responsible for changes in airline schedules that were not booked in conjunction with your tour. We do apologize for the stress involved in having to rearrange your flights, but hope that you enjoyed the trip once you did arrive.

Vacation
Most of the hotels were acceptable but Gray Wolf was not. The included meals were ok but several times the coach pulled into a parking lot and we were told to go find some lunch. The actual sites visited were good but generally not enough time. On the shorter stops those on the rear of the bus lost 7 or so minute out of a 20 minute allocation. My suggestion is that every other time the bus be emptied from the back first. One major gripe I have is that American Airlines cancelled on of there flights to Jackson so we had to come in a day early so we did not miss the meet and greet. Those that arrived on the designated day were given a voucher to get from the airport to the hotel but we were told we would not get the same courtesy.. I see no logic in this and would ask that we be compensated for the $40 charge to get into town
