  1. Day 1 Arrive Delhi (3 Nights)

    Welcome to India! Upon arrival at Delhi International Airport, transfer to your hotel. This evening meet your Travel Director and fellow guests for a welcome briefing and dinner.

  2. Day 2 Delhi Sightseeing

    This morning visit Old Delhi, which was once the capital of the Mughal Empire with its stunning masterpieces of architecture. See the Red Fort which served as the residence of the emperors for 200 years. Later visit the Jama Mosque, another example of magnificent Mughal architecture and also one of the largest mosques in India. Hop onto a rickshaw to explore Old Delhi and get a closer look at the locals going about their daily business. Afterward continue to New Delhi by coach and drive past several government buildings before arriving at Humayun's Fort for a visit. Later return to the hotel to spend an evening at leisure.

  3. Day 3 Delhi

    Today discover Delhi at your own pace or perhaps choose to join an optional Old Delhi Food Tour followed by a visit to Qutub Minar.

  4. Day 4 Delhi - Jaipur (2 Nights)

    After breakfast travel on to Jaipur, the capital of the state of Rajasthan. On arrival check-in to your hotel and spend the remainder of the day at leisure or perhaps venture out and explore the local market.

  5. Day 5 Jaipur Sightseeing

    Choose to make an early start with our Optional Experience and observe a typical morning for many Hindus which includes temple prayers and the daily shop. Return to the hotel for breakfast and rejoin your fellow travelers for a visit to the Amber Fort, which was once the residence of Rajput rulers and now a UNESCO World Heritage site. After visiting this architectural wonder, make a brief stop at the Palace of Winds, built to enable ladies of the royal household to watch city life without being seen from outside. Spend the afternoon at leisure or perhaps join an optional heritage walking tour. Dinner this evening is at a local restaurant.

  6. Day 6 Jaipur - Ranthambore (2 Nights)

    Today wave goodbye to Jaipur and continue on to the Ranthambore National Park. On arrival check-in to your hotel and after lunch, join a game drive in this wildlife reserve which was once a hunting ground of the ‘Maharajas.' The park is famous for its tigers and due to conservation efforts, the tiger population has stabilized if not increased here. The tigers can be spotted quite often even during the day as well as other wildlife including wild boar, deer, hyenas, monkeys, leopards and around 300 species of birds. Later this evening dinner is at the hotel.

  7. Day 7 Ranthambore Sightseeing

    Start the day with an early morning park visit followed by breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy a relaxing morning at leisure and after lunch venture out into the park for a final visit. Aside from the wildlife there are also many ruins of bygone eras scattered around as well as the majestic 1000-year-old Ranthambore Fort located on top of a hill overlooking the park. Later return to the hotel for dinner.

  8. Day 8 Ranthambore - Agra

    After breakfast at the hotel continue your Indian adventure with a journey to Agra by road. Make a stop en route for lunch at a local restaurant in Bharathpur and on arrival in Agra check-in to your hotel. Spend the afternoon at leisure or consider taking an optional trip to Agra Fort. This evening perhaps join our optional dinner as a farewell to your fellow travelers some of whom might be extending their trip on to Varanasi the following day.

  9. Day 9 Agra - Delhi

    Make an early start this morning with a visit to the Taj Mahal at sunrise when its white marble exterior reflects rose and golden tints. It is located on the banks of the River Yamuna and was built by Mughal Emperor in 1632 in memory of his beloved queen. Return to the hotel for breakfast and a morning at leisure. This afternoon travel to Delhi and on arrival check-in to the hotel.

    Transfer to Delhi International Airport for your onward flight.

Delhi

Old Delhi Food Tour and Visit Qutub Minar - Full day

Traditionally the old walled city of Delhi housed people from various parts of India who all had their own style of cooking, adapting the local, and imported ingredients to suit their own tastes. On this tour discover some of these ancient recipes, still sold from street stalls as well as visiting the markets with their sacks of spices and nuts, edible sheets of silver and local pickles. Although the area is crowded it is impossible to miss out on the fascinating culture which exudes from every corner with the many small temples, shrines and old mosques. End the tour at one of the few remaining havelis of the old city and meet the owner with his wife, mother and children. Their roof terrace provides a wonderful view over the city. Enjoy lunch at the haveli before leaving to visit Qutub Minar; a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the tallest brick minarets in the world.

Visit Nizamuddin Village

Nizamuddin is a 14th-century village which up grew around the shrine of one of the Sufi saints. Today this predominantly ‘urban village’ with over 20,000 residents is also known for its congested narrow lanes, tombs, pilgrims, cuisine, spiritual music, bustling markets and mosques. Take a walk around this fascinating area with our guide, a member of the Hope Project which helps the poor with education and health. Learn about the history and sights of the community and visit the stepwell and the tomb of Mirza Ghalib, often referred to as India’s Shakespeare. The walk will end with a magical visit to the main Dargah, the revered tomb of the saint which is hidden away in a tangle of bazaars selling rose petals and offerings.

Jaipur

Live Like A Local—Temple Prayers and the Daily Shop

Religion and food are two very important aspects of life as a Hindu. On this tour, you will experience a typical morning of many Hindus living in Jaipur starting with a puja at one of the most important Krishna Temples in the country which is dedicated to the Hindu god Lord Krishna and is part of the City Palace complex. Admire the chandeliers which illuminate the traditional Indian paintings and the gold-painted ceiling. Every morning hundreds of people gather to pay their respects to Lord Krishna by performing private rituals and chanting en-masse which is a fascinating spectacle to watch. This is followed by a visit to the adjacent fruit and vegetable market where you can witness some fierce bargaining taking place.

Heritage Walking Tour

There is no better way to learn about a country’s culture than through its people. Our walking tour takes you into the heart of the old city of Jaipur where you will see the people at work and going about their daily lives. Witness the countless different professions in the area; from gem polishing to bangle-making and the finest embroidery to traditional tie-&-dye. There are flower markets, silver bazaars and numerous street food stalls including world-renowned pickle makers. The welcoming locals will be happy for you to watch them at work and to answer any questions you may have.

Agra

Agra Fort Visit

Visit the impressive Agra Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the finest Mughal forts in India. It was built in 1565 and was the main residence of four generations of influential Mughal emperors until 1638 when the capital was shifted from Agra to Delhi. It contains a maze of buildings, forming a city within a city, including vast underground sections, though many of the structures were destroyed over the years. It comprises many fairy-tale palaces, such as the Jahangir Palace and the Khas Mahal, built by Shah Jahan; audience halls, such as the Diwan-i-Khas; and two very beautiful mosques.

Farewell Dinner

Join your fellow guests for a Farewell Dinner in a local restaurant serving authentic Mughlai and Indian cuisine. The décor of the restaurant is classic style with Mughlai architecture and they specialize in both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. The meal consists of three courses and will include local delicacies such as Kebabs, Paneer with Potatoes, Poppadums, Chicken Curry, Dhal and Assorted Vegetables served with rice and Naan Bread. There will also be a dessert and 2 drinks per person included with a choice of red or white local wine, beer or a soft drink.
