  1. Welcome to Boston. On arrival at Boston Logan International Airport where you will be met and taken to your centrally located hotel. Perhaps take a stroll to Downtown Crossing or historic Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market. At 18:00, join your Tour Director for a Welcome Reception and an opportunity to mingle over drinks and a light meal.

  2. Discover some of Boston's most famous sights as your Tour Director takes you along a section of the Freedom Trail. Then, enjoy the colourful scenery as you travel west to Stockbridge for a visit to the Norman Rockwell Museum, the largest and most significant collection of original Rockwell art. Next, travel through the stunning rolling hills of the Berkshires to your hotel in the beautiful college town of Williamstown.

  3. Leave Massachusetts to journey through the legendary fall foliage of Vermont. Visit The Apple Barn Country Bake Shop and taste fresh cider in the making. After a photo stop at Quechee Gorge, visit the Rockefeller's renowned Billings Farm and Museum, a working dairy and farm life museum. Next is the quintessential Vermont village of Woodstock with its picturesque covered bridge. There is time to stroll the quaint streets before heading to Stowe, Vermont. It was the breathtaking alpine setting that attracted the Von Trapp family of ‘The Sound of Music' fame when they arrived from Austria in the late 1940s and built this wonderful hideaway. At tonight's Highlight Dinner, each of the three inspired courses are perfectly paired with a lager tasting from your resort's on-site microbrewery.

  4. Today, enjoy beautiful scenery ablaze with fall colours and views of Vermont's tallest peak, Mount Mansfield. Then sample flavours of a different kind on a guided tour of Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream Factory. Return to the charming town of Stowe where the rest of the day is free to wander the quaint streets, hike in the woods, or enjoy your lodge's amenities.

  5. Near Montpelier, visit Morse Farm Maple Sugarworks and taste a Vermont tradition: ‘sugar on snow'–maple syrup served with a doughnut and pickle. Then head for New Hampshire's White Mountains and enter Franconia Notch. Get your cameras ready for a ride on the aerial tramway offering superb panoramic views. Later, journey through the dazzling crimson and orange hues of the famed Kancamagus Scenic Byway to North Conway.

  6. This morning, enjoy an interpretive presentation by a naturalist on the North Woods' wildlife and ecology. Then, more spectacular fall foliage awaits as you journey through Crawford Notch. Stop for pictures at the Silver Cascade Waterfall and Bretton Woods, offering stunning views of Mount Washington, the tallest peak in the northeast at 6,288 feet (1,917 metres). Return to your hotel where the evening is at leisure.

  7. Leaving New Hampshire's glorious fall foliage, enter the deep green pine forests of western Maine. At charming Kennebunkport, travel along Ocean Drive with stunning views of the Maine coastline and the homes of Kennebunkport's rich and famous, including the summer retreat of former President George H.W. Bush. Browse the many galleries and shops, or walk along the waterfront before continuing to charming and historic Portland. In the evening, enjoy a Celebration Dinner at a local restaurant collaborating with local farms and fisheries to provide a farm-to-table experience.

  • We suggest bringing a variety of lightweight clothing items that can be layered to save space in your suitcase and give you more options for how to dress. For more helpful information please refer to our Packing Tips & Packing List.

  • At the end of your guided vacation, it’s customary to offer your motor coach driver and Travel Director a gratuity.  We recommend $4-5 per person/per day for your driver and $6-7 per person/per day for your Travel Director.  Recommended gratuity for a Local Host and Local Specialist is 1-2 dollars per person, paid at the conclusion of each guided visit.  A convenient option is to prepay your tips before your departure.

  • Baggage on our trips is restricted to one large suitcase per person with dimensions not exceeding 30x19x10 inches and a maximum weight of 50 pounds. You are also permitted one piece of hand luggage, which should be small enough to fit under your coach seat or on the small overhead shelf compartment. Please note that luggage with an adjustable handle and wheels will not fit in the overhead compartment of the coach. Hotel porterage is included in your vacation.

  • You will need to be comfortable on your feet, walking and standing for up to three hours in various weather conditions.  All of our vacations involve walking, often on cobblestone and uneven surfaces in historic city centers.  In order to get the most out of your vacation you need to be able to comfortably walk 1-3 miles unassisted in one day, be in good condition and be able to keep pace with the group. 

    If you need any medications, it is important that you bring enough to last you the whole trip and keep them in your carry-on bag while you travel.

  • We highly recommend our optional Travel Protection Plan, which allows you to cancel for any reason up to 48 hours before departure.
