Later, you will have free time to enjoy as you wish. In the evening, get to know your Tour Director and fellow guests over a Welcome Drink at the hotel. Afterwards, take your seats at the magical Sound & Light Show at the Great Pyramids which literally illuminates the history of Giza - an unforgettable introduction to the world of ancient Egypt.

Trusted Customer
Service:
Vacation:
Service rating : Navigating pickup and airport departures was well handled, with very knowledgeable and pleasant personnel. Tour guide, Akram, was wonderful and cannot imagine this tour with anyone else. However, the general harassment level with vendors and constant daily tipping made an overall undesirable experience. I also wanted to experience additional Egyptian cooking. My outgoing flight was ridiculous, traveling west and back east over same airspace--unbelievable. Overall, I do not consider this trip a good value and will not recommend GET to anyone.
Response from Grand European Travel:
We are sorry to hear that you felt harassed by the local vendors.  While it can be upsetting, it is a known part of the culture in that area. We do apologize for any frustration you experienced. The flights that were booked for  you were done so with the most direct routing available at the time. We are always open to any preferences you may have regarding flight times and schedules as long as we are notified in advance of your travel.
We do appreciate the honest feedback and will certainly share with our Quality Control team in Egypt.

Vacation : Tipping daily was irritating. Should be included. Not good value.

  • U.S. citizens traveling to Egypt must have a current passport that is valid for six months beyond the conclusion of their trip. You can find information on how to apply for a passport here, and how to renew a passport here. U.S. citizens visiting Egypt will also need an entry visa.  We will send you application forms to complete to obtain your visa prior to departure. Visa costs and entry requirements can change at any time. Please visit travel.state.gov to learn more.

  • The currency in Egypt is the Egyptian Pound. We suggest bringing a combination of credit and debit cards on your trip. The most convenient way to obtain cash is to use your ATM or debit card to withdraw Egyptian pounds at local banks in Egypt.  It is important that you inform your financial institutions of your travel plans before you leave home so they don’t flag your purchases as fraudulent charges.

  • We suggest bringing a variety of comfortable, lightweight clothing that can be layered. Sturdy walking shoes are important for sightseeing excursions. Insect repellent and sunscreen may come in handy, as well as a light jacket and shawl or scarf.  Keep in mind that your shoulders and legs should be covered at religious sites. For more helpful information please refer to our Packing Tips & Packing List.

  • We highly recommend our optional Travel Protection Plan, which allows you to cancel for any reason up to 24 hours before departure. The plan also includes trip interruption, baggage loss or delay, and medical and emergency assistance. Click here for a summary of coverage details, terms and conditions.
