This winding road, closed to private vehicles during the summer, will take you to some of the most treasured spots in the park. This evening, go off the beaten path and into the woods of Bryce Canyon to view the color-changing hoodoos as the sun sets. With your Travel Director, learn how wind, erosion and iron oxidation created the spellbinding hoodoos. Opt to explore by horseback joining a ride in the Dixie National Forest and the rim of Water Canyon amphitheater, the first canyon in Bryce Canyon National Park. You'll then climb Bristlecone Pine Ridge lined with 1,500-year-old Bristlecone Pines (one of the oldest living things on the North American continent.) The rest of the afternoon and evening is yours to explore the nearby trails and vistas as you please.
Experience Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, an outstanding biological resource spanning five life-zones, from low-lying desert to coniferous forest. As you explore this rugged land of the Ancestral Puebloan and Fremont people, discover how they were experts at farming. Ruby's Horseback Adventures (Available on Day 3)If you’re looking for a scenic tour of the Bryce Canyon area, our 1-hour horseback ride takes in the Dixie National Forest and the rim of Water Canyon Amphitheater, the first canyon in Bryce Canyon National Park. Leaving the rim, you climb Bristlecone Pine Ridge with standing 1,500 year old Bristlecone Pines (one of the oldest living things on the North American continent). From this ridge, you will also see Boat Mesa and Sinking Ship Peak, some of the higher points in Fairyland Amphitheater.

You will venture off the beaten path into the backcountry of the Navajo Reservation where you will be guided through the art of making dreamcatchers. Traditionally used as protective charms, you will learn first-hand the spiritual and cultural significance of dreamcatchers. Then, seated amongst the vastness of Monument Valley, try your hand at crafting your own unique and personalized dreamcatcher. You will be guided along the process of this craft by a local Navajo member. This 1.5-hour long workshop will allow you to form the beginnings of a dreamcatcher with beads, string, feathers and other decorations. If you are unable to complete your dreamcatcher during the workshop, you can take additional materials and instructions on how to complete the dreamcatcher at home.
