Welcome to Idaho Falls! You’ll begin your small group tour - Yellowstone, The Tetons and Glacier National Park, at this small town on the Snake River. Tucked in the Rocky Mountains, you’ll feel the spirit of outdoor adventure as soon as you settle in. Meet your Travel Director and fellow companions for a Welcome Reception and toast to seven days of exploration.
Kick off your vacation as we head to Wyoming, where you'll be taking to the water on a scenic boat trip across Jenny Lake. You’ll feel like you’re in a landscape painting admiring the snow-capped peaks of the Tetons and breathing in the fresh mountain air. You’ll arrive ready to put boots to ground on a hike to Inspiration Point where you’ll encounter a cascading waterfall and spectacular views across Grand Teton National Park. Next up, enjoy more sightseeing in the Tetons at the Chapel of the Transfiguration, Mormon Row, or one of the many scenic spots in the area to capture the vast wilderness. Reaching Yellowstone National Park packed with beautiful hikes, grand vistas, you'll want to make the most of every moment. This evening head back to the lodge to rest up for your next big day in Yellowstone.
Rise and shine and beat the rush to see the best of Yellowstone on a morning hike. This afternoon, let your Travel Director lead the way to more Yellowstone sightseeing as you make your way from Lower Geyser Basin and Grand Prismatic Spring to the Upper Geyser Basin and Old Faithful. You’ll be surrounded by pine, mountains of a grand scale, and bubbling geysers and feel like you're in an alien land as these gurgling pots make their presence known all around you. At Old Faithful, stand back and enjoy the show. And if it’s winding down, rest assured that Old Faithful will spout up again shortly. You’ll return to your lodge ready to relax and take in a mountain sunset or review all those incredible photos from the day.
Start the day with a MAKE TRAVEL MATTER® Experience with your Yellowstone Forever Educator. Learn about the dynamic nature of the Yellowstone Volcano and how it affects life in Yellowstone. Then Dive Into Culture at Madison Buffalo Jump, learning how this massive semicircular cliff was used by Native Americans for 2,000 years as the site for stampeding herds of bison off the edge.
After breakfast, learn about the history of Helena during a guided tour of the Montana Historical Foundation. Afterward, relax with a scenic drive along Flathead Lake, the largest natural freshwater lake west of the Mississippi. Stop for a picture-perfect picnic along the shores of Flathead Lake, where your Travel Director will find the perfect spot. Make the most of the stunning vistas while enjoying fresh, local food and drink.
Begin your day with a visit to the Blackfeet Reservation and a foraging expedition. Learn about Pikuni (Blackfeet) names and uses for plants, along with how to properly gather, process and consume them today. Your foraging expedition will be followed by a Be My Guest lunch at Chewing Black Bones Campground (seasonal) where you'll connect with locals as you gain insight into the Native American perspective of history and the sacred place known to the Blackfeet people as The Backbone of the World. Make the most of your final day with a visit to Glacier National Park. The majestic scenery, flowering valleys, and open prairies will have you glued to the window and snapping postcard-worthy pictures. Back in Whitefish, celebrate all you’ve experienced over a Farewell Dinner with the group.
It’s been an epic seven-day tour of Montana and Wyoming, but sadly all good things must come to an end. Enjoy a final, filling breakfast in Whitefish before you are transferred to the Kalispell airport by noon.
