World Elephant Day: GET Involved!

Grand European Travel & The Travel Corporation: GET Involved

For over 40 years, the Grand European Travel team work passionately day in and day out to ensure you can travel confidently to your dream destination. We’re part of The Travel Corporation (TTC), an internationally-renowned family of award-winning brands that have been creating enriching travel and hospitality experiences for over 100 years.

As part of TTC's continuing journey to ensure the environment and communities we visit remain vibrant for generations to come, World Animal Protection has provided guidance in the development of an animal welfare policy to assist TTC's operations teams around the world as they vet and assess all animal related activities TTC offers.

World Elephant Day asks you to experience elephants in non-exploitative and sustainable environments where elephants can thrive under care and protection. On World Elephant Day, August 12, express your concern, share your knowledge, and support solutions for the better care of captive and wild elephants alike.

The theme for this year’s campaign, is “BEE” – “Be Elephant Ethical.” There are various ways to BEE if you have the good fortune to encounter an elephant in the wild, at a wildlife sanctuary, an elephant camp, or a zoo. We believe that the ways to BEE remind us that we should treat elephants the way we would like to be treated ourselves.

The TreadRight Foundation

Created as a joint initiative between The Travel Corporation’s (TTC) family of brands, the TreadRight Foundation is a not-for-profit working to ensure the environment and communities we visit remain vibrant for generations to come. By providing grants to organisations that encourage sustainability in different destinations, we hope to maintain the natural attractions and unique heritages across the world that define each region.
