undefined Experience all the best of Eastern Europe on our 15-day Highlights of Eastern Europe guided vacation. Go behind the former Iron Curtain and discover this fascinating and less traveled region of Europe. After arrival into Budapest, we visit the twin sides of Buda and Pest. Visit the Castle district and Matthias Church, then gaze over the Danube from Fisherman’s Bastion. We cross the Tatra Mountains toward our next wonderful destination Krakow. Krakow was the seat of Poland’s kings for centuries and your local guide will revel you with tales from the past on your walking tour. Head to Wawal Hill to visit the castle and cathedral.

We will spend some reflective moments in the city and concentration camp of Oswiecim, better known throughout the world by its German name, Auschwitz, the most infamous site of the Holocaust. Our next stop is the 14th century Monastery of Jasna Gora, famous for the Black Madonna, said to have been painted by St. Luke. Then enjoy a Signature Evening dinner, starting with an authentic dumpling demonstration and tasting, followed by a delicious dinner featuring succulent local dishes plus beer or wine, tea or coffee.

In Warsaw, see the “wedding cake” Palace of Culture and the Chopin Memorial. Pay your respects at the Monument of the Ghetto Heroes.

From Warsaw head into Germany and see the Brandenburg Gate and drive along the Unter den Linden in former East Berlin. Also, see the Opera House and don’t miss the great shopping opportunities in Berlin.

Enjoy a city tour of Dresden on our way to Prague. Then visit 1000 year-old Prague Castle; explore the town square with its famous astronomical clock and enjoy some of Europe’s most lively nightlife. Enjoy a behind-the-scenes Signature Experience in České Budějovice , where you’ll tour a local brewery to sample the beer and discover the secrets of how this golden vintage is made. Continue on to the delightful Czech town of Cesky Krumlov and enjoy the wonders of small town Czech Republic.

The journey concludes in magical Vienna; visit the splendid grandeur of Schonbrunn Palace and take in some of the fantastic cafes this city is known for after seeing the sights along the “Ringstrasse’.
