All hotels used on our trips do have air conditioning but some European Countries do have restrictions about when they can turn on air and when it must be turned off for the season. We do apologize for your discomfort.

Pick better hotels for the money we paid as some people we not able to take showers because of the size of the shower itself, also no air conditioning in most hotels was not acceptable, bathroom doors off the rail and having to be moved to different rooms was unacceptable!

Jelle is a gem. He is organized, fun and exciting. He does a great job of balancing everything for everyone. I have no idea how he does it. He created a sense of community but you also feel like the trip is all about you as well. This was such a divine sampling of lots of different places in Europe but freedom to do what you needed to do.

Some travel experts were more informative than others. The thing that was lacking was a virtual meeting 3-4 weeks before the trip started. I've heard loads of other travel companies do this and I think it is both reassuring and helpful to first time travelers like me and my family.

Thank you for your suggestions and feedback. We hope this is the first of many trips to come.

The booking process was easy. I had to make payment in full since it was close to travel. It would have been nice to have more details about the trip overall but the reservation process is easy. I booked my airfare through them as well at the same time because I was told that was the only way transfers were included however that was not true- Many others on the trip booked their own airfare and were still able to use the transfers free of charge.
Response from Grand European Travel:
Thank you for your very detailed review of your trip. We do provide a great deal of information about what to expect while traveling on our website www.getours.com. We hope that you came home with some happy memories!

Vacation
NOTE- this is a cost savers tour. Expect it to be as such. It is an excellent opportunity to see many places on a budget. However, the optional items are almost necessary. They indicate that you can not take the transportation many days if you are not doing the optional things. Which leaves you to need an uber or other public transportation otherwise you are stuck at the hotel. The hotels are mostly far from any city centers. Plan to spend additional for several things. DO your research on the places you will be staying. Most of the days are spent on a coach with many hours of driving. They make a comfort stop at a gas station rest stop, plan to be eating here and waiting in very long lines to use a toilet. We did not have access to the toilets on the bus as they were locked and only used by the driver. Most hotels are 3 star quality. Customer service lacks from which you may be use to depending where you are from. I did not know to pack my own toiletries and washcloths etc. I also did not know I would need to pay to use a restroom facility. Basic information such as these would have been helpful for someone who had never traveled to these areas. The walking tours are nice and you will see a lot but there is little to NO free time as specified in the itinerary. The free time is enough to grab a bite to eat and walk to the coach again. Be prepared for any type of weather! You are out for a good part of the day. Be sure to have good shoes! There is ALOT of walking involved. Most of all just enjoy the experience and use it to see where you would like to go back to and spend more time. It is very fast paced and not enough to throughly enjoy any specific area. Hopefully you will have good tour guides. I will say that definitely has an impact on my review as well.

I booked the trip in 2020. The booking experience at that time was great. The representative was very helpful and answered all my questions. A few months later, I found out the trip was postponed for 2 years, which was completely understandable. As this year's travel date approached, I never heard from anyone at GET, not even for payment. I had to reach out to them several times before getting any kind of response. It made me very apprehensive about traveling with them. Luckily, it all worked out fine.
Vacation
The tickets to the Passion Play and the Moulin Rouge were incredible! Absolutely great seats, much better than I anticipated. This trip was a lot; we covered a lot of ground in a short period of time. Which understandably meant many hours on the coach. There wasn't as much free time to explore the cities on our own as I would have liked. I would recommend, eliminating London from the trip and concentrating on the other cities. Spend a night or 2 in/ near Cologne or Rhineland. Don't spend more than 3 hours on the coach per day.

Overall we really enjoyed our vacation. Our only comment is that we felt there should be a few more "rest stops" in between destinations. Maybe just 15-20 minutes to get out of the bus and stretch or walk around a bit.
