Lisa did a great job answering our questions and booked our trip very well. We had our return trip cancelled by the airlines. The airlines provided no help at all getting us rebooked. We called GET and had our return trips rebooked. A special thanks to Randy and Dee for resolving our problems.

Everything was wonderful and was a trip to be remembered for a lifetime. Sarah our Tour Director was great. Everything doesn’t always go according to plan (Paris traffic, COVID, participants walking issues) and Sarah handled each issue professionally. Sarah provided lots of information during our travel times and the local experts were very knowledgeable about their areas. Because of the COVID issue, we had to switch coaches. Both coach drivers, Marc and Jo Jo were excellent. Glad they were driving in the Paris traffic. Three suggestions. 1)The Montparnasse high rise views were great, but in our opinion, the Eiffel Tower tour (booked individually) was better as most of the tourist sites are closer. 2)The tour should highlight that the Paris Explorer tour is reasonably active, walking some rather long distances. Some participants had difficulty covering these distances. 3) Participants should know ahead of time that they will not be able to see everything and the times allowed at the attractions only cover the highlights. The Paris metro is inexpensive and easy to use. The hotel location was close to a stop and we used the metro to see other attractions when we had “time to explore”. We have bragged about our trip since we’ve been back and have recommended the trip. This was our second trip arranged by GET and we’re sure we’ll be doing more in the future.

For the most part the experience was very good. All my questios were answered. I would have liked first time customers to be given extra attention especially with the COVID-19 requirements.

Too many problems. When confirming details regarding the trip, I encountered frustration on both sides. I’ll arrange my trips on my own as I did before.
Response from Grand European Travel:
We are sorry to hear about your frustration and disappointment. We understand your group of friends had other outside activities planned that conflicted with our included itinerary and it did cause some confusion and stress and for that we do apologize..

The trip was good, but not enough time to experience Paris. Also not enough down time.

It was pretty straight forward to book a tour and the agent was helpful in suggesting a non-stop flight both to and from France. The service was good but not particularly outstanding.
Vacation
The Paris Explorer is a fabulous trip--very comprehensive and one definitely sees the highlights of Paris. The Louvre trip was ridiculously rushed so either more time needs to be considered or make it an optional trip. Choice of hotel was excellent, optional trips great and our tour director was outstanding. Somewhere in the materials there should be a frank discussion of how much walking is required for this tour. Someone on the tour had a fitbit and said that the walking ranged from 3-7 miles every day. For much older travelers, this much walking was impossible and those travelers missed some of the sites because there was so much walking. This is not the tour for anyone with ANY physical limitations. That should be emphasized in the materials.

Our tour guide Jonathan was fantastic. Very professional. Very knowledgeable. The tour guide in training, Marcus, was also fantastic. They put in very long hours, and always went above and beyond our expectations. We were in Paris 1 week and felt like we did all of the highlights we wanted to do. We were kept busy but not too much. The only day I did not enjoy was to the Louvre. There were too many steps and the lines were too long to see the Mona Lisa. I would go only if it were not to see her, but to see statues and other artist's work.

i didn’t make it personally. My traveling partner made them.
Vacation
The pick up location was more then a mlle walk. If I’d known that I would have ordered a wheel chair. The hotel accommodations were highly overrated, we had to change the room. Wednesday’s 2 events were poorly thought out, considering the average age had to be 65 and older. (I’m 70 years). Both tours were four hour walking excursions. That was the most exhausting day of my life. Please don’t do that again.
Response from Grand European Travel:
We are sorry to hear that the included activities proved to be too much for you. All of our trips do require a great deal of walking and we try to be up front about that in all of our descriptions, however, we can make arrangements for wheelchair assistance ahead of time when given notice. We do hope that there were some happy memories made on your trip and appreciate your feedback.

There was confusion and several incidences of being given incorrect information. The hotel information given was incorrect. The rooms are small and uncomfortable, not spacious at all.
Response from Grand European Travel:
We do apologize for your disappointment. It is a fact that European hotels rooms are considerably smaller than what we are used to here in America. This trip and the hotel is advertised as First Class and that is what was provided. We do hope that despite your room situation, you were able to enjoy Paris.

Paris is a beautiful city. It is hard not to enjoy France. If your hotel is uncomfortable, hard beds, small space, bad air conditioning, no place to place luggage for eight days, This puts a damper on the overall trip. Especially when the trip is considered or billed as a luxury vacation.

EVERYONE on the tour, all 27 of them, had €40 EUR certificate to be used at a few different bistros. We never received anything and had to pay out of our own pocket. I only mention this because when the lady from GET called before the trip to check on us I had to tell her that nowhere had we received the actual flight itinerary as in times and flight numbers. Somebody dropped the ball on this trip which was our second tour with GET. Our Italian tour was flawless so we were happy to book with GET for Paris. We plan other tours for ourselves but I’m not 100% about rebooking with you.
Response from Grand European Travel:
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. The Dining Voucher should have been included in your final documents packet along with your flight itinerary and day by day tour itinerary. We will investigate to make sure all these items were sent and someone from our team will be in touch with you shortly.
