Vacation : Once a deposit was made, there was no additional communication by the representative. Payment was due by a certain date in order to receive a discount on the trip total. But, we had to remember the date on our own...it was like you wanted us to miss the deadline so we would have to pay the full amount. It was good thing one of us kept track of the date to remind the rest of us.

Service rating : We had a triple room, and we had to call for a cot at each hotel. This should have been pre-arranged that a cot was in the room before we got there. I told the tour director at the first hotel, and he should have called ahead to each hotel to verify and he did NOT. At one of the hotels we didn't receive our luggage before we went to the oh Canada eh optional tour. I told the tour director before we got on the bus. He wasn't worried about it for he assumed it would show up while we were at the show. When we got back to the hotel the luggage was still not there. I went and found the tour director and he then started talking to the front desk about it. He should have called the hotel while we were at the tour to confirm that the baggage's got to our room. The tour director only cared about entertaining us, and not making sure our issues were addressed and taken care of.

Service rating : The Trafalgar tour of Eastern Canada was very well organized, the trip was very well organized, we stayed at lovely hotels, and our tour guide Jennifer Hirtle was excellent. The bus driver, Ron, was a terrific driver and a lovely person. We would definitely take another Trafalgar tour.
Vacation : We felt that we got very good value for the money. The tour made it possible for us to be able to relax and enjoy Niagara Falls, Ottawa, Quebec and Montreal without having to plan ahead or drive.

Service rating : Overall the tour was 5 stars. The only reason I rated 4 was due to their not having a policy when someone is ill with a fever and a severe cough which are signs of influenza or infectious URI, they do not have any droplet precautions such as putting on a mask to protect the passengers and requesting the ill person be seen to make sure they are not infectious to the rest of the passengers. The tour buses are very close contact which allows easy spread on infectious diseases. The last tour we had a person with influenza with a fever and cough on the first day( Very ill). They had an opportunity to go to a walk in clinic and chose not to. We were stuck on the bus for seven days with fever and severe cough. By the end of the trip 6 more passengers were ill and for those of use that went on the cruise portion several more were ill, myself included. We counted a total of 11 and that did not count those that had gone home. It would seem many of us lost some valuable and expensive travel days, the time and expense of a Doctor visits and prescriptions, unnecessarily to an illness that could have been prevented. The staff at GET have always been excellent! We have traveled with this company 6 times.
Vacation : Very good accommodations, tour guides, excellent food. There was backtracking on the bus from Quebec City back to Montreal to pick up the cruise ship which was overlapping bus travel. It would seem like we could have picked up the ship at Quebec City since we were already there. Overall this was a very good trip.

Service rating : When ever I had a question, I could call and get an answer. The only thing I was sorry about was taking the advise to not only land in Toronto, but return from Toronto. This required leaving Montreal early in the morning for a 7 hour bus ride. I could have spent that time seeing more things in Montreal.
Vacation : I thought the guide, bus driver , sights, food and hotels were very good. Also the two optional events were both good and worth the money. I wish I had come a day earlier to Toronto, as I don't think we had enough time to see much of Toronto or Montreal. It may have been better to extend the tour one day and/or cut a day at Niagra Falls.

Service rating : I would have appreciated advance information advising that Trafalgar, not Grand European was providing the tour. The bus was cramped and more crowed than previous tours taken with Grand European, There was no welcome package at check in; had to track down the location of welcome reception.
Vacation : The itinerary, meals provided, and hotel accommodations were very good for the most part. The stop in Kingston was a waste of time. Fort Henry was of no significance and while the food and entertainment on the cruise was good there was no opportunity to see any sights. The tour director was very unprofessional and did a poor job carrying out his responsibilities. He was sarcastic, condescending, rude, and offensive. He acted as though he lacked interest in what he was doing, was indifferent much of the time, and many times, referring to US travelers as "you guys", would refer to US and Canadian relations in a negative light. He offered very little in the way of pointers/insights to the traveler and narratives along our travels many times were limited to stating the obvious. Travel directors on previous Grand European tours have been very good-outstanding. It's very disappointing this was not achieved on this trip.

Vacation : Very well organized - good mix of organized tours and free time. Our tour guide, Kirsten, was great - personable, knowledgeable, and with a good sense of humor. Motor coach was nice but could use more room - we always felt "squished" in the seats. Accommodations were very comfortable (Sheratons and Hiltons). The majority of the group would have liked one more day in Montreal (also could skip Ft. Henry in Kingston).

    If you need any medications, it is important that you bring enough to last you the whole trip and keep them in your carry-on bag while you travel.
