Service rating : Acommodition ,food, sight seeing, guide derector our drivers are excellent so I'm looking forward to use another trip with trafalgar tour agency thank you
Vacation : I'm been so place with all the personnel in European tour they did tried to work it out my trip I'm really place. They are excellent.
Sunday, October 1, 2017
Service rating : This was the best guided tour ever. Are guide along with the driver did a outstanding job. I will be recommending Grand European to my friends.
Vacation : Worth every penny. Just outstanding. The guide was exceptional and went overboard to help my wife with every little detail to make her feel comfortable.
Sunday, October 1, 2017
Service rating : Itinerary and travel director excellent. Was not satisfied with booking agent.
Vacation : Good locations and accommodations.
Sunday, September 24, 2017
Service rating : GET phone assistance pre-tour was uneven. This tour was great but I made the mistake of following GET's written insistence that my sole carry-on must not exceed 10x11x6 inches. Not enough room for bottled water, a hat, a full-size camera, an essential umbrella. We needed carried-on toiletries when we would reach our hotel rooms before our suitcases and we were due back on the bus in 1/2 hour -- but they did not fit into my 10x11x6 bag. Everyone else on the tour had carry-ons far exceeding that size with no problems. They had not seen this fine print and thought the rule ridiculous. What saved the trip for me was the free, much larger Trafalgar-logo bag that the tour guide gave us on the second or third day.
Vacation : Excellent quality pastries.
Monday, September 18, 2017
Service rating : Andy Major made this a 10+
Vacation : Everything went according to plan.....
Monday, September 18, 2017
Service rating : I loved the tour and thought the itinerary was excellent. I personally would have like a smaller tour of 15-16 people though the 44 on this tour all traveled cohesively. I think in large measure that was due to our fabulous tour director, Arne Schmidt. As I recommendation, I would have like to have most of if not all the 'optional' excursions added onto the regular tour. This added amount added a significant amount to the tour--after I had already booked it at what I thought was a good price. Also would have like more directed 'touring' rather than long stretches of exploring the city on my own. Though landmarks were pointed out before our 'release' time, please remember that I am touring because I do not know the particular city so that most of the time spent looking in churches or shopping, does not reveal its history. I can understand an hour or so of free time for a regional meal, but not 2-3 hours in a strange city. I travel to learn about things I do not know, not to shop. I felt this particularly in Vienna when I would have loved to have a more in-depth tour of the Ringstrasse which figures prominently in history but which we were on for a very short time with little of significance pointed out during that very short time. When I asked about certain blogs I was told they were far away, on the other side, etc. When we were given free time, I was uncertain about how to navigate the Ringstrasse and still get back to my starting place in time to meet the bus. Hotels and selection of restaurants where we dined together as a group, were excellent. In summary, loved the tour overall with the above mentioned exceptions. Thank you also for the travel adaptor that came in very handy, as well as the wi-fi on the bus. And again, kudos to Arne who is exceptional....and very patient.
Vacation : Not sure what you mean by this section. Does this mean purchase of souvenirs--which were insignificant. Or do you mean the purchase of the tour, which I have covered in my comments above. If this is for the trip, I feel that the cost of the optional tours, which I was not aware of before booking the trip, were unexpected and made the trip much more expensive. I did purchase every optional tour and they were excellent and did add much to the trip, but in my opinion should have been either declared in the description of the trip or just included as part of the trip with the amount added to the base price.

Service rating : Arne was an amazing Travel Guide. His knowledge, humor and charm made the trip. There were great sights, food and a lovely group. Could not ask for more.
Vacation : Danube Cruise amazing for and sights Eagles Nest just can't miss Night tour of Prague what a sight
Response from Grand European Travel:
Beautiful photos! Thank you so much for sharing them.

Service rating : Our guide Andy Major with Trafalger was incredible. Our driver Frank was superb and very safety minded. Would appreciate 3 nights in big cities and no one night stops.
Vacation : Excellent for the price..
Monday, August 28, 2017
Service rating : The trip was very informative, but the Easy Pace wasn't so, as I had to keep asking for the director Carolyn to slow down. There were a few Senior that had canes and did have a difficult time keeping up. I did speak out to make Carolyn aware. Also, the Farwell Diner at the selected Restaurant was not very pleasing. The food was cold the staff appearred to not know what they were doing. They scurried around looking as tho they were sure what to do. The food was dropped off and never ask did we need something else. They did come back to the table to clear it but service WAS VERY POOR. FOOD WAS not even hot. I am sorry to write this but, another thought is the travelors, should not fill out the questionaire til the trip is completed.
Vacation : The Customer service people were FANTISTIC, I called several times and always felt that I was important. Alyissa R, went above and beyound to help me.
Thursday, August 24, 2017
Service rating : Your guide was wonderful ( Kate) We were on scadual to visit every where we went . Her timing to manage our group was great .
Response from Grand European Travel:
Thanks for your comments.  We're really proud of our guides, and sounds like Kate lived up to our high standards!
Friday, August 25, 2017
Vacation : We had wonderful guide Kate was really knowledgeable and lead the tour perfectly.
Thursday, August 3, 2017
Service rating : They were very accommodating to our needs
Vacation : The price was right for all we saw.
Tuesday, August 1, 2017
Service rating : We were lucky to have the best tour director and the best bus driver. I have travelled with other tour guides and drivers, but Dean (Wonderful) Smart and Milan (bus driver) are the best team!!!
Vacation : It was the best planned trip. However, a couple of optional palace tours should be included in the tour. Isn't this the purpose of the tour to see important sights? Instead of charging for every historical sight we want to see, great historical sights should be included!!!
Wednesday, July 26, 2017
Service rating : Emerson was the main reason the experience was wonderful. He was fun, entertaining, professional and most important a logistic genus because he handled all the administrative tasks in an outstanding/efficient manner. We were always on time and in the know of everything that was going on and what was to occur next.
Vacation : Prices for everything were reasonable. The hotel accommodations exceeded the value of the tour, the breakfast and dinners provided to us were exceptional and a memorable experience. The Tour Director was by far the best and stood heads and shoulders above the other tour guides around us. 100% better than doing the logistics myself because we did not have the broad experience that the Tour Director bought to the adventure. Most important, we meet new wonderful friends that will last a lifetime!
Sunday, July 16, 2017
Service rating : My 3rd GETour program. Consistently excellent from accommodations to travel ******, to local guides, to educational component.
Vacation : Excellent program details and planning. Should provide more info for more senior travelers of the amount of walking involved. One of our group had a pedometer that totaled 50-miles walking during the trip. 3-of our group used canes, so an advance warning of the amount of walking plus the amount of cobble-stone and uneven surfaces should be provided to avoid post-trip complaints for any lack of notice.
Tuesday, July 4, 2017
Response from Grand European Travel:
The transfers to and from your hotel are included int he price of your trip, however, they are at designated times. If you arrived prior to the set pick up time there may have been a wait at the airport fo the transfer to arrive. We're sorry if that was the case. We'll be happy to reimburse your taxi cost if you can provide us with a receipt. Thank you for bringing these issues to our attention.

Service rating : We had a great trip. I thank GET for offering the itinery at an affordable price.
Vacation : Very affordable. The accommodations were 4 & 5 star.
Tuesday, June 6, 2017
Service rating : Everythin was perfect.Well coordinate. The Director excelente. Sure I will travel again and will recomende to every vary.
Response from Grand European Travel:
Thank you very much for traveling with us.
Friday, June 9, 2017
Vacation : We enjoy the trip very much, after 9/11 we took a braek, but we found out we fill safe to travel again. The hotel servicewas excellent, the group was good we all got alone. The tour director was excellent very knowlegeble, thecity tours guides very knowleble,Nathasha has wounderfull sence of humor she keep the people alert.Food good .We think the price of thefood and concert were over price, because the waitres were serving in a horry, plus the food was not what we pecteverybody were unsatisfaite.the bus driver was respectful and courteous.thanks
Wednesday, May 31, 2017
Service rating : Quick response and accuracy were appreciated
Vacation : Excellent organization. Great job by the tour director and the driver. Well paced. Interesting places. Always on schedule. Meals were great. Lots of fun. Enjoyed it.
Tuesday, May 23, 2017
Service rating : Everything was easy to plan and the whole tour went on schedule. We had added a week which was easy to arrange with European travel.
Vacation : The price was acceptable. The extras did not cost too much more. Hotels were good except one was marginal.
Sunday, May 7, 2017
Service rating : Our agent Daniel was so helpful in helping us choose just the right tour, crediting us with all possible discounts, and informing us along the way as to updates, payment, and document requirements.
Vacation : Our tour guide, Uli, demonstrated excellent knowledge of the area, its history, special venues, and hidden jewels. The hotels were conveniently located near city centers for the time spent on our own.

Service rating : This is our sixth tour booked through Grand European Travel. We have always receive expert and professional service from experienced and caring staff. For our last four tours we've worked with Diane Anzalone. She is terrific and so easy to work with. We have all the confidence in the world that Diane will provide us with the best advice as well and great travel planning.
Response from Grand European Travel:
Thank you so much for your kind words. We so appreciate your business and are happy to see you enjoyed your 6th trip with us.  We will share your comments with Diane who be very happy to hear them indeed.
Wednesday, April 19, 2017
Vacation : This is the sixth tour we've booked through Grand European Travel and it has been our favorite. The comfortable pace gave us two days in the bigger cities and provided fun-filled days packed with experiences we thoroughly enjoyed. The frosting on the cake, however, was our tour director Malcolm McCrea. All our past tour directors have been excellent, but Malcolm was exceptional, a cut above the rest. His knowledge of the history of the areas we traveled was extensive and well-presented, and he was genuinely interested in our well-being, always checking in with us about how we were doing and being open to questions and concerns. We had one fellow traveler with special needs and Malcolm was always available to assist her whenever assistance was needed. Malcolm even started the trip by setting expectations of how he wanted us to treat each other, with respect and kindness, which he aptly modeled. His sense of humor kept all in a good mood. It was just a pleasure to be around him.

Service rating : This tour was absolutely perfect! The airline reservations and other paperwork was done very well. The actual tour was well-organized, with optional experiences such as short cruises that were fun and added a lot to the tour. The tour director and the driver on this tour were also exceptional. Of the six tours I've been on since I retired (from various companies), this one was in all respects the best. I learned a lot -- and accommodations were excellent. Have to mention that the weather also cooperated--11 days with perfect temperatures and no rain!
Response from Grand European Travel:
We're glad we could order up some good weather for you and that you enjoyed the trip.  We appreciate you taking the time to leave your comments.  Thank you!

Monday, April 10, 2017
Vacation : I'm glad I went on this tour--so much to learn and such a very informed tour director. I couldn't believe how much information he could remember without any notes. The TV screen in the front of the bus for short history lessons and features from the sound of music were also appreciated. Also, on arriving home, we received an email with suggested books, etc to further our interests.
  • U.S. citizens traveling to the Czech Republic, Germany, Austria and Hungary must have a current passport that is valid for six months beyond the conclusion of their trip. You can find information on how to apply for a passport here, and how to renew a passport here. No visa is required for U.S. citizens entering these countries.

  • The currency in the Czech Republic is the Koruna, in Austria is the Euro, and in Hungary is the Forint. The currency in Germany is the Euro (€).  While it’s a good idea to bring some money for when you first arrive on your trip, you’ll usually find a better exchange rate in your destination.  The most convenient way to obtain cash is to use your ATM card at local banks in the Czech Republic, Austria and Hungary. We recommend you also bring a valid credit card for purchases while you are traveling.  It is important that you inform your financial institutions of your travel plans before you leave home so they don’t flag your purchases as potentially fraudulent charges.

  • Traditional German cuisine is rich and delicious.  Try specialties including a variety of bratwurst with sauerkraut, cold cuts, spätzle and potato dumplings.  For dessert you cannot miss the world famous Black Forest Gateau.   Beer is a big part of German culture; sample a variety of German offerings including pilsner, Kölsch and sour beers.  In Frankfurt, try the local cider (Apfelwein).   Wine is also popular throughout Germany, and world-class whites are produced in the Rhine and Mosel regions.

If you like meat and potatoes, chances are you’ll love the food in the Czech Republic.  The country is also known for its long-standing tradition for beer.  Most towns have at least one brewery, so it’s no surprise that the Czech consume more beer per capita than any other country.  In Austria you’ll find more hearty cuisine, but nothing beats the desserts. Try delicious treats like Viennese Sachertorte (dense chocolate cake) and apple strudel. In Hungary you’ll find hearty specialties including goulash, winter salami, pork stew, and chicken paprikash.

  • We suggest packing a variety of lightweight clothing items that can be layered to save space in your suitcase and give you more options for how to dress. It’s important to bring comfortable walking shoes and a waterproof jacket. For more helpful information please refer to our Packing Tips & Packing List

  • Service and VAT are typically included in the price of food at restaurants in Germany.  When leaving a tip, it is appropriate to simply round up your bill or leave up to 10 percent.   Rather than leaving your money on the table, be prepared to leave it with your waiter when you pay your bill.  If you are expecting change, simply tell them how much you will need back after gratuity.

At the end of your guided vacation, it’s customary to offer your motor coach driver and Travel Director a gratuity.  We recommend €3.00 per person/per day for your driver and €5.00 per person/per day for your Travel Director.  Recommended gratuity for a Local Host and Local Specialist is 1-2 euros per person, paid at the conclusion of each guided visit.  A convenient option is to prepay your tips before your departure.

  • Baggage on our trips is restricted to one large suitcase per person with dimensions not exceeding 30x19x10 inches and a maximum weight of 50 pounds. You are also permitted one piece of hand luggage, which should be small enough to fit under your coach seat or on the small overhead shelf compartment. Please note that luggage with an adjustable handle and wheels will not fit in the overhead compartment of the coach. Hotel porterage is included in your vacation.

  • You will need to be comfortable on your feet, walking and standing for up to three hours in various weather conditions.  All of our vacations involve walking, often on cobblestone and uneven surfaces in historic city centers.  In order to get the most out of your vacation you need to be able to comfortably walk 1-3 miles unassisted in one day, be in good condition and be able to keep pace with the group.

If you need any medications, it is important that you bring enough to last you the whole trip and keep them in your carry-on bag while you travel.

  • We highly recommend our optional Travel Protection Plan, which allows you to cancel for any reason up to 24 hours before departure. The plan also includes trip interruption, baggage loss or delay, and medical and emergency assistance. Click here for a summary of coverage details, terms and conditions.
