  1. Arrive at Munich Airport. If your cruise package includes a group arrival transfer or if you have purchased a private arrival transfer, you will be greeted by a Uniworld representative and transferred to the hotel.

  2. Munich is often called the most livable and lovable city in Germany, and the Bavarian capital definitely lives up to the hype. This economic powerhouse also has a village-like quaintness that makes it a delight to explore.

    Featured Excursions:
Choice of Exclusive Do as the Locals Do Munich walking tour or Munich city tour

    meal(s):Buffet Breakfast
  3. Featured Excursion: BMW World

You’ll have a fascinating guided tour of the company, brand, product history and collections of BMW World, housed in a huge futuristic structure that is itself worth a trip.  About 125 of the brand’s most valuable and rare automobiles, motorcycles and engines are on display.

    meal(s):Buffet Breakfast, Dinner
  4. Three rivers meet in Passau—the Inn, the Ilz and the Danube—and three nations almost meet: Austria, Germany and the Czech Republic. Its central location made it a trade hub for centuries, and with trade came wealth that endowed the town with many beautiful buildings. Spend some time exploring the town itself or get out and about along the Inn or the Ilz with a bike ride or a hike.

    Featured Excursions:
Choice of Passau walking discovery tour with St. Stephan’s organ concert or Exclusive guided Go Active bicycle ride along the Inn River or Exclusive guided Go Active hike along the Ilz River

Note: The organ concert is only available from May 1 to October 31, excluding Sundays and Catholic holidays. An alternative venue will be organized before and after these dates.

    meal(s):Buffet Breakfast, Lunch, Welcome Dinner
  5. Salzburg or Linz? Both are equally tantalizing. Mozart’s birthplace of Salzburg is nestled in a glorious alpine setting that sparkles like a winter wonderland; Linz may be best known for its famous Linzer torte, but it’s also a hotbed for the arts. See the sights with a local expert, or go behind-the-scenes at the Linz opera house and taste cider at an apple and pear orchard.

    Featured Excursions:
Choice of Full-day Salzburg or Linz town and country: opera house and cider farm visit

Note: Lunch is not offered with the full-day excursion to Salzburg.

    meal(s):Buffet Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
  6. You’ll want to find a comfortable seat in the lounge or on the Sun Deck as your ship cruises through the Wachau Valley today. Over the eons, the Danube cut a gorge through the foothills of the Bohemian Mountains, resulting in a 19-mile (30-kilometer) stretch of riverine scenery so beautiful, UNESCO declared it a World Heritage Landscape. Castle ruins dominate hilltops; baroque church towers appear on the river banks, marking historic villages and splendid abbeys; and vineyards and apricot orchards cling to the rocky slopes. Some of Austria’s finest white wines are produced from grapes ripening on the dry-stone terraces above the river, where grapes have been grown for 2,000 years. You have two ports of call in the incredibly scenic valley, Dürnstein and Melk, and an assortment of delightful ways to explore this lovely region.

    Featured Excursions:
    Melk Abbey with library visit
Choice of Dürnstein “Village Day” with exclusive Nikolaihof wine estate visit and tasting or Exclusive saffron workshop with village stroll

    meal(s):Buffet Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
  7. Vienna is a cultural treasure trove revered for its art and music (and sinfully rich pastries). Experience the City of Waltzes with your choice of tours, as well as VIP access to an extraordinary collection of art—you’ll have an opportunity to view it in complete privacy, an extra special treat reserved solely for Uniworld guests. How to cap off a perfect Viennese day? An evening concert featuring works by Mozart and Strauss.

    Featured Excursions:
Exclusive “Morning with the Masters” at Vienna Art History Museum
Exclusive Mozart & Strauss concert at Viennese palace
Choice of Vienna city tour or Exclusive “Do as the Locals Do” Vienna walking tour

    meal(s):Buffet Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
  8. Once hidden from the world behind the “Iron Curtain,” Slovakia retains an air of mystery and intrigue, and its small capital city has an unexpectedly colorful history. Learn more about Bratislava’s past from a local expert, then check out the whimsical street art and sample some only-in-Slovakia treats.

    Featured Excursion:
Choice of Bratislava walking discovery tour

    meal(s):Buffet Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
  9. Budapest is an enchanting city that presents a vibrant mix of East and West, medieval and modern. Made up of two parts that were at one time two separate towns—Buda (the hills) and Pest (the flatlands)—the city, divided by the Danube, is a design-lover’s paradise. You have a variety of ways to experience the city: Take a panoramic guided tour aboard a motorcoach, sample the Budapest that locals love on a walking tour, or discover the city’s beautiful parks and gardens via bicycle with an expert local guide.

    Featured Excursions:
Choice of Budapest city tour or Exclusive "Do as the Locals Do" Budapest walking tour or Exclusive guided "Go Active" Budapest bicycle tour

Note: Visits to the interior of the Matthias Church may not be possible on some weekends and Catholic holidays.

    meal(s):Buffet Breakfast, Lunch, Farewell Dinner
  10. Disembark the ship and transfer to Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport for your flight home, or extend your stay in Budapest.

    meal(s):Continental Breakfast/Buffet

  • U.S. citizens traveling to the Czech Republic, Austria and Hungary must have a current passport that is valid for six months beyond the conclusion of their trip. You can find information on how to apply for a passport here, and how to renew a passport here. No visa is required for U.S. citizens entering these countries.

  • The currency  in Germany and Austria is the Euro, and in Hungary is the Forint. While it’s a good idea to bring some money for when you first arrive on your trip, you’ll usually find a better exchange rate in your destination.  The most convenient way to obtain cash is to use your ATM card at local banks. We recommend you also bring a valid credit card for purchases while you are traveling.  It is important that you inform your financial institutions of your travel plans before you leave home so they don’t flag your purchases as potentially fraudulent charges.

  • We suggest packing a variety of lightweight clothing items that can be layered to save space in your suitcase and give you more options for how to dress. It’s important to bring comfortable walking shoes and a waterproof jacket. For more helpful information please refer to our Packing Tips & Packing List.

  • We highly recommend our optional Travel Protection Plan, which allows you to cancel for any reason up to 48 hours before departure. The plan also includes trip interruption, baggage loss or delay, and medical and emergency assistance. Click here for a summary of coverage details, terms and conditions.
