Registration was handled flawlessly, including air research reservations
Although the trip was enjoyable and places visited were interesting and lovely, too much time was spent on the bus traveling and the group was too large. Fewer churches could have been visited. More natural history explored, some agricultural sites explored would have increased the interest. Other folks in the group expressed the same concerns.
Response from Grand European Travel:
Thank you so much for your suggestions and feedback. We will share this with our team at Trafalgar and ask them to review for future trips.

Alyssa Rucker is pleasant, thorough, and responsive to questions and concerns. All arrangements went smoothly. it's hard to ask for more.
My friend and I wanted to see more of Portugal than other companies offer. (Most just throw in Lisbon and maybe one other location with a trip to Spain.) Grand European's itinerary of Portugal was complete, covering all the areas we wanted to visit. Our tour director and our local guides show deep knowledge, love, and pride for their country. Our tour director (Rita) was a joy to travel with, well-organized, full of surprises, and managed to keep track of all of us. (I'd love to share some pictures, but I haven't been through all of them yet!)
Response from Grand European Travel:
We so appreciate your business and couldn't be happier to see that your trip was able to check all the boxes for Portugal. We'd love to see those pictures when you have them sorted out.

Booking and getting the necessary information was great as well as sending the travel documents on time.
Everything went smoothly. The tour director could have assembled us in one room to make the introductions instead of 2 in a noisy restaurant. When the introductions were made on the bus nobody could see the person who spoke.
Response from Grand European Travel:
Thank you for that suggestion. We will be sure to pass it on. Glad to see you enjoyed beautiful Portugal.

Josh was very helpful in helping 2 sisters from opposite ends of the US get this Portugal trip booked. This is my second GET tour but maybe not my last.
The Best of Portugal trip was indeed awesome and we covered the entire country. That being said it was also grueling. One and two night hotel stays. My mind was swimming with info - I still need to review the itinerary and write a synopsis of what I saw and where and when. I started out with notes but got waylayed after a few days. Now our guide Rui Veloso was the absolute best guide EVER. Being from Braga Portugal he has such a passion for his country and the love came out every day. He made the trip worthwhile. So GET you need to use guides from the country of the tours. He often reminded us that this was NOT a vacation but a TOUR.

Guide was great. Many very interesting experiences. However some of the stops weren't worth the time and others could have used more.

We have also had good experiences booking our 6 or 7 trips thru Grand European and will use them again in the future. We recommend GET to others.
Our trip met all of our expectations and more. Our tour director (Tiago) was awesome and maybe our best tour director so far.
